Hi

Is there somebody that have a 19/20" setup on the NSX.

If so, could you please post pic's.
Wide and offset, Size of the tire and maybe a few word of experience with the setup.

Thank's

Carlo

I would think MAYBE you could run 19's upfront with OEM height with some rubbing on full lock, but you can forget about lowering the car.

I hope this is considered as being lowered !!!
It does rub lock-lock,but not on the pinch welds like some people have noticed with less of a wheel/tire combo.I have driven the car with no problems otherwise. As far as TCS issues,I do not think mine is working so I can't comment on that.
Tire sizes I have, but I do not the wheel
specs except for the fact that they are 19 X 8 front and 20 X 10 rear
Tires are pirelli's 215/35/19 and 275/30/20.(with all the people who have PM'd about sizing of these,I guess I should measure them one day).
As you can see by the pics it is not the most aggresive stance(not flush with fender,in a bit),but definately stops you from toasting a fender when lowered.
I may be selling these soon,if anyone is interested.

I test tried an 18/20 if that helps.

215/35/18 front, and 295/25/20 rear. IMHO I think the stagger looked better this way. As far as handling, I'm sure anyone considering 20s out back aren't really conserned are will notice the compromise this stagger will have/make.

I did love the look though :) Too bad the 20x10 ET 25 was too aggressive for the stock body.

Thanks for the pics.
It looks like you have a high offset ,I suppose 50 or 55 front and rear.
More pics from straight behind/front would be helpful to find out what offset you have.
Maybe the rubbing problem is offset related.

I would not want to change the offset because with any more offset,I would be rubbing on that pinch weld,I talked about above.I ended up making/adding a 3mm hubcentric ring on the front.
Here are a couple more pics from the front back and top of each.

Maybe I'm not lowered AS MUCH as Stacy... but I have an 18x8ET 40, and 19x9.5 ET40 also.

Both are flush, no rubbing. I am running 295/30/19s with no TCS issues in combo with 215/35/18 fronts. So I would ASSUME 295/25/20s would be safe if you found a 20x9.5-10.5 ET40-45.

Hope that helps :)

BTW, Stacey Nice wheels.

There's no such thing as 19's with OEM height. The smallest 19" tires commonly available are 215/35-19, which are almost two full inches (over 8 percent) larger in diameter than the '91-93 stock front tire size.

Does anyone make a 295/25/20 with a matching size for the front?
That is where I had a hard time was finding the 215/25/19 front with a matching rear,in the size I wanted.
I like the set-up,it definately gets the looks aroound my area.Maybe a bit heavy to some but with all the power mods these days it's not hard to compensate. My problem is I am bored of these already and want to move onto something else,I think, !!!

If I measure back-spacing would someone be able to translate that into a +__ size?

Stacy

BTW Thanks for the compliment on the wheels !!!

 That's nice.

Total number of 215/25-19 tires available for sale at the Tire Rack: Zero.

Total number of 295/25-20 tires available for sale at the Tire Rack: Four.

Smallest size 19" tires available for any of these: 225/35-19.

Amount by which 225/35-19 exceeds the '91-93 front size in diameter: 2.13 inches (over 9 percent).

Chances that 225/35-19 will rub on the wheel wells: 100 percent.

Chances that 225/35-19 front tires and 295/25-20 tires will cause problems for the traction control system on a '91-93 NSX: 100 percent.

Equivalent gear ratio for the ring and pinion gear, to provide the same degradation in acceleration as 295/25-20 tires do: 3.913 (about the same difference as going from the stock 4.062 R&P to the aftermarket 4.235, only in reverse).

I think it looks ridiculous, but De gustibus non est disputandum.

Yeah I agree I think the 24's might look ridiculous too,LOL !!! But if they made a tire that would fit I would have tried !!
Each his own,"This is what makes us different from one another,I guess".

Technically speaking, a 215/30/19 is what is necessary for the front of an NSX where a 215/35-18 would normally go. That said, I never saw a 215-30-19, or 215-25-20. I do know 215-35-18 and 295-30-19 have no TCS issues on a 97. Same with a 235-30-18 and 315-25-19 combo, and 215-35-18 and 295-25-20 (although only driven upto 25mph since offset was too low/aggresive)

24s deff look ridiculous and have no need to be on an NSX. IMHO 18/20 is about the max a proper setup within the parameters of a TCS should be (althouth I can't vouch for TCS settings on a 91-93.)

Hi Stacy

Toyo PROXES 4 have 215/35ZR19 and 295/25ZR20

On the German BFGoodrich Web Page i found a 225/30/ZR19 and 292/25ZR20

http://www.bfgoodrichreifen.de/bfgd...deRubrique=5&codePage=BFG_PAG_DETAIL1&lang=DE

To determin the offset

One thing I will say is that the 225/35/19 won't work.I know it's not much difference but won't work, stick to the 215.Also make sure you get a tire that doesn't have a sqaured off tread pattern (eg.the pirelli is a good tire).A more rounded sidewall is better.I know the Kuhmo tire in the same 215 size doesn't work as well.
As far as rubbing, mine rubs the same as my buddies I-forged 18/19 set-up,lock to lock.

Stacy

The 18/19 is a beautiful combo on the car and I'm sure the 19/20 is stunning.

I had 18/19 iForged and they also rubbed lock to lock and during very hard cornering. It's the rubbing while cornering that's the part that stinks... takes away from the performance aspect of the car if you know what I mean.

Those are all-season tires, just perfect so you can drive your NSX with 19"/20" wheels in snow! :D

There are some budget performance summer tires available in 215/35-19, but that size is just too big for the front of an NSX. It will rub and will cause TCS problems.

:D

Another aspect: If you even can get very few tires/brands in the size you need and still have to compromise on the brand you can be lucky and still get this size in 2-5 years but what if the size is discontinued.

Rubbing: some people even get rubbing with 215/35/18 on 8/17 ET 43 in the front on the inside (!) as long as the tires are new.

I stand corrected, I guess you can fit 19/20's with a drop.

What I meant by OEM height, was OEM ride height ,ie not lowered.

YES !!!! 19"/20" wheels in snow!!! Is there somebody that want sell me his snow chains    .

Stacy : I meant 225/30ZR19 not 225/35ZR19

Anyway : I think the conclusion of this this thread for me is,
if i don't wanna have rubbing, i can't go to 19/20:frown:

Thank's to all for the Info
