Maintenance Information
Have records from previous 2 owners plus me. This year it had a lot of work and updates. New tires were installed in February, Dunlop Direzza 215/40/17 for the front and 265/35/18 for the rear. A new Optima red top battery was installed at 91,000 miles in May. More recently in October, a major service was performed, which included replacing the timing belt, gaskets and the water pump using OEM Honda parts. All 26 cooling and radiator hoses were replaced with OEM Honda parts as well. A new clutch was added to bring the clutch pedal feel closer to stock while still being able to handle the added torque from the supercharger. Specifically this clutch is from Science of Speed, a sport 350 clutch and flywheel set. Spark plugs were changed and valve clearances were adjusted. The front motor mount was replaced with OEM parts. All fluids were replaced, including the oil, transmission/differential, coolant, and brake fluid. The cam and crankshaft position sensor were replaced for peace of mind. Finally, the AC was recharged, and rear stainless steel brake lines finalized this service at 91,914 miles.

In 2006, the original engine received a Comptech supercharger, HKS exhaust and DC sports headers with 66k miles on the odometer. The steering rack bushing was replaced with a ScienceofSpeed part. 2 months later the transmission was swapped for the 6 speed JDM unit. Suspension was refreshed with Bilstein shocks and Dali racing sway bars. In October 2007 a newly rebuilt lower compression engine was installed at 74k miles, and around 2008 the AC module was repaired. Engine management has been upgraded to an AEM Infinity system.

This NSX received the Type R treatment with many exterior modifications. A VIS racing carbon fiber Type R style hood was painted in the factory Formula red color to match. Downforce side skirts and door pieces compliments the Wings West front air dam. The rear end was refreshed with 2002 OEM tail lights and the 2002 rear bumper set. Inside the glass hatch houses a Downforce carbon fiber engine cover with plexiglass windows and a carbon fiber rear window garnish. The headlamps were upgraded to HID lighting, and cool white LED DRL's compliment the look. Period correct two piece forged Volk Racing AV3 wheels are 17" in the front and 18" in the rear. On the inside, a Type R shift knob and boot were installed along with the Type R red carpet to keep the theme current. A MOMO steering wheel and rapid steering hub gives a sportier more direct feel. The knee bolster covered was replaced with an OEM piece, and carbon fiber door sills were added.

Audio upgrades include an Eclipse head unit, Alpine amp located behind the driver's seat, custom enclosures for Diamond Audio speakers in the door with crossovers and dynamat sound deadening material. A carbon fiber subwoofer enclosure built specifically for the NSX's footwell houses a JL audi 12" subwoofer. The center console has been modified to fit the head unit and has been refinished to an OEM spec satin black. The driver's seat leather was refreshed by Leather Tech at 92,000 miles.
