Advice needed: NC1 - Car Wash

Is there any way to wash the NC1 and not get all the water and soap in the Rear Engine Bay Area.... ive tried closing my trunk by gently pushing it down like the first GEN but did not work.

I line the inner sides with towels

Is this a thing? So the rear area isn't water tight?

The trunk is water tight. Water has been known to seep into the engine area with the use of pressure washers. But this area is not really supposed to be water tight as it's obviously open underneath.
