Hope you guys save your brass. There's a large, growing market for spent cartridges even if you don't reload yourself.
Ya'll are talking 300/600 "boxes" of 20 right?FYI - It's about $8.00/box if you ordered the bulk of 600.
A bulk order of 300 makes it $8.67/box

The boxed gun has a bunch of goop on it.
Not an AR but I did pick this up today:
And a couple hundred rounds of .45ACP. It's smaller than I expected but maybe I was just using the USP as a reference. The boxed gun has a bunch of goop on it.

Nice 45acp what grip did you use? S, M, L you can just change it out if your hand if too large.
Saw this on another forum
Ammo comes out to $8 per box of 20 rounds. Shipping was $19.95 for my 2 orders of 600 (although I had to pay sales tax since they have locations in Texas).

With what happened in Oakland to the officers, I am sure there will be alot of people supporting the ban :frown:
Probably, but I always ask this question in that kind of situations. With what happened in Oakland to the officers, I am sure there will be alot of people supporting the ban :frown:
Anyone with a felony history cannot legally obtain/own a gun of that nature and my guess any gun for that matter.Probably, but I always ask this question in that kind of situations.
Was that gun legally obtained? If not, what good would a ban do? Banning guns won't stop criminals from getting them. Drugs are illegal too aren't they?
Also, guns don't kill people. People kill people. Anything can be used as a deadly weapon. Knives, baseball bats, rocks, cars, etc. Lets ban all those things too. Don't blame the gun. If this POS wasn't out of prison, he wouldn't have even been able to kill.
Exactly!Anyone with a felony history cannot legally obtain/own a gun of that nature and my guess any gun for that matter.
Dumb question... As much as I am a fan of AR and AK variants, how practical are they for home defense? I can see the point of having one in case if there is some sort of civil unrest like the Rodney King riots or right after Katrina where law and order is completely non-existent but would it be a bit of an overkill against a single intruder or burglar at night? There would be a greater chance of these rounds going through walls, hitting your neighbors right?

Once again, why do people always think the racking of a pump shotgun will scare any intruder? You guys are thinking of the perfect situation, but what if you only have a split second to react? What if the intruder has the jump on you and he's locked and loaded with his sights on you already? You think the racking of the slide is gonna scare him then?once an intruder hears the "shuck, shuck" of a pump they will be most likely to flee.
A home of self defense gun has to be chambered and ready at all times. When it's either kill or be killed you ain't got time to be racking no slide.
Let me chime in...that's not a dumb question, but logically coming from a view of you and I both living in so-cal its not that practical to use for home defense, reason being..as mentioned it can go through walls, even your neighbors wall. I know several people that live in o.c with ar15's that use it for sport shooting it's a good weapon for medium range.
I doubt in so-cal we have to worry about katrina, but think about a large earthquake...it would be katrina like, a riot...yes that is in the possibility. As for home protection, look at Yellow nsx's post...a shot gun would get a great choice, you can buy shells that do not penetrate wall's but he has a higher end one which is semi automatic...a pump one would be fine, once an intruder hears the "shuck, shuck" of a pump they will be most likely to flee. Downside to a shotgun is that it is hard to conceal in the house do to the size. I personally use a Sig 229 for home protection, there have been instances where I did awake to weird noises and had to grab it...luckily a false alarm...I recommend having a gun, before its too late.

Just wondering, how do all you Cali guys set up your AR's? Do you use the bullet button or do you use that horrible looking stock to comply with California's laws.
From what I understand, there are two diverging conventional wisdoms about the above:
- home defense gun should have a round in the chamber. Reason being that if you need it for immediate defense, the firearm should be ready to go at a moment's notice.
- home defense gun should be loaded but not chambered. Reason being that the dreariness of sleep may cause you to make bad decisions with a firearm and chambering a round will cause the shooter to be that much more conscious and aware of what exactly is happening.
I chose the latter from advice from one of the shooting classes I attended a couple years ago. It made sense at the time but that's hoping that the intruder doesn't get the drop on me. Choices choices choices...
