Best steakhouse in Las Vegas?

Just a quick question for the locals and experts. Tommorrow we are taking a guys trip and I'm the designated planner. For those who go there often, what is (in your opinion) the best steakhouse in Vegas? We are thinking Emeril's Delmonico, Ruth Chris, Smith and Wolensky, etc. We have a reservation at Emerils, but I don't know anyone who's been there. Any input would be awesome, thanks!

Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio is good.
Neros at Caesars is good too (less "traditional" than Prime)

IMO, you can get Ruth's Chris or S&W anywhere. Pick a local place. Never been to Delmonico....don't know if it's local or not.

I get to Vegas twice a year for trade shows. We always make a point to eat at the steak house at AJ's located in the Hard Rock casino.

Another great find was at the old Binion's Horeshoe downtown. There is a grand old steak house on the top floor. And, while downtown, don't miss the "Freemont Experience".

Known for dry aged sirloin, Gallagher's at New York-New York is good.

For sheer elegance try Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens in town.

Stay away from chains or celebrity restaurants. And don't waste your money at Lowery's prime rib steak house. They should stick to seasond salt. The prime rib was unremarkable and expensive.

As you can tell, when you're stuck in a city for a trade show there is often not much else to do but eat, and we like to eat well when we are away from home.

I have to give a "two thumbs up" for Prime at the Bellagio also. I had dinner there the night I got married and we had an excellent meal and the service was nothing short of spectacular.

According to most all Las Vegas poles on this subject, the number one steak house in Las Vegas, is "The Steak House" at Circus Circus. Notably this has been the case over the last 6-7 years as well. Not an elegant name, or at a nice casino, but they are #1.

Food is quite good, the scenery is even better. If you go, try to eat as late as possible as the talent increases exponentially with each passing hour as the clock winds from 8 to 9 to 10pm.

I have a friend that travels to try out different steakhouses. The one he recommended to me in LV is Golden Steer. I also hear nothing but good things about Craftsteak at the MGM Grand (a good place where you can get Kobe).

Citysearch.com is a good place to get names and some reviews of steakhouses but I wouldn't trust their rating system.

I second the steak house in the Palms. Although not in Vegas, the steakhouse in the Borgata- Atlantic City, NJ is simply the best around. :biggrin: Its called The Old Homestead

Completely agreed with your comment. It's good food, not great, but the scene is def niiiccce after 10 :wink:

Not a steakhouse, but I had the best lamb chop I even had at Trattoria Del Lupo at Mandalay Bay. It's a Wolfgang Puck's restaurant.

I read the same thing also, so I had to try it a year or so ago. Twas good, but not remarkable. They cook their steaks over lump mesquite charcoal, which is my personal favorite method, but IMO the quality of the cut of meat was not that great (can't imagine is was USDA Prime). I was impressed a bit more by the strip I had at Gallaghers, but not the best I have had.

One place to make sure to avoid is the "Steak House" at Treasure Island. We were over there one evening to see the Pirate/Siren show out front, and decided to eat there. Man, talk about a waste of money.

Another vote for Prime at Bellagio -- excellent food, excellent service. The Japanese restaurant upstairs (Shintaro) is also quite good -- I love their Jellyfish display behind the sushi counter!

Everybody's taste is different. Here is my $.02.

Delmonico's was not impressed . Not worth the price.
Gallager's in NY NY is OK, but Ruth Chris is better. But you can get Ruth Chris anywhere.
The Steak House at Circus Circus, steaks are very tasty.
The Range at Harrah's is equal to The Steak house at Circus Circus. IMO
The Golden Steer, have never been disappointed. If you want the best Prime Rib in Vegas go here. Get there early they do run out.

Have not been to these places, they are on my to list.

Circus-circus the steak house. Voted the number one steak house in Vegas. I just ate there last month and the food and service was top notch.
