Hello Prime,

Finally had the time to make a thread for my 1991 NSX.. After many, many years of drooling over NSXs and with a little persuading from @MexiRicer , I finally pulled the trigger on my dream car. I bought the car October of 2022, from a guy who used it as a daily driver. I stopped the guy to chat about the car and jokingly offered to buy it. I gave him my number expecting to never hear from him since he said he wouldn't sell it. However, after several months, he contacted me stating he was going to sell the car and asked if I was still interested. After going back and forth on whether I should buy it or not, we met and to my surprise, we settled on a price.

The car has it's blemishes, but it's nothing I can't fix or replace.. Like many here, I can't leave my cars stock. This restoration/build is going to be slow, but this thread is intended to document the vehicle's modifications, services, and updates. Hope you guys enjoy... 🍻

Nice thread...ya know the battle star galactica oem exhaust tips are growing on me ,,,what stays the same is new again

Hell yeah good stuff Braulio!!! From So Cal Civic forum to NSXprime.... I think you and @junior40er are the only other guys that made their way here from SCC lol... Hey now that I'm seeing your tire specs, the fronts should be 215/40/17... I think the taller tire had caused the previous owner to buckle the fenders. The front wheel specs are very mild to have been a factor. Anyways, cant wait to see your build updates bro :D

What's in the white Spoon box?
I am guessing it's the Spoon rearview mirror...
Correct. A spoon rearview mirror.

Thank you... I can't say the same.. I'm not much of a fan haha.

Lol glad to see another familiar screen name on here.. However, thank you my man! Much appreciated.

Due to a few house projects, this project had been on the back burner.. However, here's a small update on a few changes/upgrades:

- Pride V2
- 16/17 TE37's
- Fixed 3rd brake light issue (discovered harness was cut)
- Changed from a worn Mugen steering wheel to a Spoon Gen3
- Cleaned the interior
- Removed the spare and cleaned the bay a bit
- Started to clay bar the paint, which was in rough shape
- Oil and air filter change
- Passenger door tumbler was damaged (Per the prior owner. He stated they attempted to break into the veh, but failed)
- Switched over from the CF NSX R style spoiler to the OEM spoiler
- Adjusted coils and aligned the car
- LED headlight bulbs
- Removed from badge to detail and then replace with an NSX R H badge

To be continued...

I haven't posted an update.. As mentioned from the get-go, this build was going to be slow.. Very slow 😓. However, I'm pretty picky and like to do things right the first time.

In the last several weeks/months, I have been on the hunt for OEM bits and pieces for items. Unfortunately, I discovered that some items are discontinued.. Fortunately, I have found a good chunk of the items I wanted to replace so at least I have that going. The stockpile will continue as I stumble upon or order more OE parts.

My plans are to send the car out for maintenance, but after I gather a few more parts (might as well change/add parts while the motor is out, right?!) Once the car is all serviced for, I plan on sending the car out for a full respray - same color. And after the paint cures, I'd like to send it out to get PPF'd..

In the meantime, I have added/changed/removed the following:
- OEM JDM Front Fenders w/ S2K Side Markers
- OEM JDM NSX-R Horn
- OEM JDM NSX-R Shift Boot
- OEM JDM NSX-R Intake Manifold Cover Plate
- OEM JDM NSX-R Red H Front Badge
- OEM Zanardi Trunk Mat
- OEM '02+ Rear Valence
- OEM NSX Coin Tray
- OEM Navi Pod w/ Carpuride W701 Pro
- Gromaudio Stereo Adaptor
- Mita Motorsport Countersunk Shift Knob
- Mita Motorsport Short Antenna Kit
- Mugen Pedals
- Renegade Dead Pedal
- Alcantara inserts done by Mr Chrislum
- Pride SS Resinated Test Pipes
- Downforce CF Air Intake Scoop
- Cedar Ridge Fab Short Shifter Kit
- Carbing Strut Bar

Removed:
- Detailed interior
- Removed OEM spare tire + holder
- Removed OEM CD changer
- Removed OEM optional telephone receiver, harness, and control box
- Removed OEM engine cover
- Removed OEM sub
- Removed OEM cats
- Removed OEM antenna

I love to see builds like this. Piles of boxes of OEM parts. Keeping the OEM style with a few nice aftermarket bits. Really nice job, man. I love me some TE37s on a red NSX!!

Thank you, sir! That's the plan, OEM with some quality aftermarket bits. If all goes as planned, the biggest changes will come this up coming year!

Any more details on this setup? This looks like something I'd like to do as well!

Great stuff so far!
Thanks!

I used an OEM Navi pod, with a Science of Speed pod bracket. I purchased a Carpuride W701 Pro with a back up camera and mounted it to the Navi pod with a bracket made by a FaceBook member on NSX Prime (Nelson Kwong). His bracket also includes a power adaptor which connects the screen to the OEM clock harness. I used a little bit of felt tape to hold the bracket and screen in place, which made it stay in place nice and firm.

The OEM radio gets signal from the screen through a Grom Audio auxiliary adapter. The adaptor is hard wired via aux to the Carpuride screen, which gets signal from my cellphone via Bluetooth. I now have the perks of CarPlay, navigation, audio, etc with an OE appearance. IMG_3776.jpegIMG_3778.jpeg
