Have you all seen the civic si concept on autoweek.com?
Looks pretty cool. How can Honda not want to build a new NSX when they're going performance oriented with the civic as well?

Looks good. I like the way the headlights recess under the hood as it meets the grill opening. That little detail gives the front a distinctive look.

Just under the hood is basically the Accord's badging thingamajigger.
But I do like the intakes below that part.

I like it - it looks like a smaller version of the current Accord. Would make a nice daily driver.

Word is that Honda may discountinue the RSX in favor of this, but I don't think that's going to happen seeing as how they just freshened up the RSX for the 05 model year.

the rear does resemble the scion TC a lot...
the front looks more like an aggressive
version of the TSX

I love Honda's simplicity. Riceboyz are going to love this.
I totally agree with <B>OJAS</B>'s comment about the headlights recess.
My only complaint would be the rear exhaust: I'm not a fan of center exhausts except on lambo's for a good reason -- the first thing ricers are going to slap on this car is a 8" exhaust tip. Naturally. But that would make it look like.....well.... use your imagination. It's another boxster. :D

Overall, I dig it.

Much better looking than the current Civic I reckon.

Glad to see Honda moving away from the "Corolla" shape back to the '91 Civic shape which is IMO still the best looking to date...

Awesome job!

The Si has received very postive reviews in the magazines. In terms of looks, it stayed very true to concept. As far as performance, it has RSX Type-S power and handling, but costs several thousand less (which may be good and bad).

The new Civics should hit showrooms this month. Modern interior, fresh exterior, available Navi, and awesome performance in the Si. They seem to be more mini-TSX-ish than an entry-level economy car-ish.

Here's the official site. There are some nice pictures under Civic Gallery. I posted them below and linked to 1280x1024 version, but there are other resolutions (both higher and lower) on the site.

BTW: Honda just sold its 100,000th hybrid vehicle. I can’t wait to take the new Civic Hybrid for a test drive (and hopefully park it in my garage afterwards). :)

Thank you <B>Ojas</B> for posting and linking all those photos. You made my wallpaper-leeching experience much easier. :) Thanks!

i like the futuristic look of the SI. I wonder what ricers will take it too.

The Si looks pretty nice. I am still waiting for the CRX that autoweek said Honda might make.

thanks for sharing. honda did a good job on the car, finally!! btw, i think the civic's interior looks better than the RSX, more futuristic. am i the only one that feel this way?

Looks like a TSX to me. I like it and am really impressed that Honda is showing a car that looks exciting for the first time in several years.

The si is out on the streets right?!....my buddy said he saw one while in his NSX, heheh..the said the kid didn't even look over because he thought my buddy wanted to race him.

If that is how a normal Honda saloon car looks like just imagine NSX replacement.

An in-depth review on VTEC.net:

Civic Si Review

"Engine: 10 - What can I say? The sound, the fury. It's the most enjoyable engine you can get from Honda short of an NSX."

 That's quite a statement considering the S2000's engine note is also quite exhilarating!

There's also a video of an '06 Si down the straightaway of a track run:

http://video.vtec.net/06/civic/06si.wmv

It does sound quite aggressive

Yeah, that’s saying a lot, but it might be true. The review in the October 2005 Road & Track said something similiar:

"Short of an NSX at full song, the Si now possesses the company’s sportiest, most raucous acoustic signature."

I found this interesting: From First Drive: 2006 Honda Civic Si on edmunds.com:

"To enhance that sound the intake duct was routed inside the fender to take advantage of the body panel's acoustics. According to Honda, the panel amplifies the intake sound, which is probably why we could hear the Si ripping down the back straight from pit road."

Thanks for the link to the video. I bet the sound is even more impressive inside the car.

Saw the new STi yesterday, i gotta say, it was really nice. A LOT better than what I thought of it orginally.

Si or STi, errrr...........i'm so torn now. God?
