Mosport grand prix track

Tomorrow.

I paid $450 for it but decided I'm too busy at work to go.

Weather is supose to be great.

Anyone want to take my spot?

Don't worry Dave will ask you for a favour someday.

I got a free track day from Dave once to. In my case I only had to watch his porn collection. Start to finish. It sounds like fun at first, but you have to remember. It's gay porn. :(

Muchas Gracias Dave!!
Beoootiful day with light traffic on the track. At days end we were only 4 cars on at a time, only 8 at a time max earlier on. Got a bit lonely out there. Had instructors out with me for the first time in a while and its nice to get a few finer points to work on . One other NSX there so I wasn't alone. Plenty of P cars, one Ferrari and an ultra sexy Aston Martin which unfortunately did a bit of mowing of the lawn after turn 3. Light damage only if there is such a thing on a beauty like that.
Sorry you missed it as it must have been a heart breaker to have too much going on to get out.

Glad to hear it went well. These days are usually the best; few cars, great guys who are very behaved, cool cars around, good lunch. I was so pissed off all day looking outside at the weather knowing what I was missing out on!

Who was the other NSX? Was it the guy who owns the dealer (and also the owner of the Aston?).

Some crazy fast guys there too. 650hp Porsche turbos do the trick if you dont mind driving a gay car. ;)

Second NSX was the Honda dealer dude but it was not his Aston as he only brought the NSX. The Aston was apparently even a higher end model with a carbon tub construction.
650 HP P cars, man I tell you, they get down the back straight in a hurry. In hindsight I should have asked for a ride, I heard rumours of nearly 250Km/h.
I can squeeze out 212 or so on a good run

If I want to, Im 245 on the straight BTW. Im sure a better exit out of 5 would get me to 250.

A better exit out of 5 might get me to 213:biggrin:
Dang, them are some high speeds.
Betcha I get better mileage though.
One fellow decided to put 100 octane in his Ferrari as he was filling up just in front of me, 55 l cost him over $ 200.00 and I was wondering what was up.
After that he was seen limping back to the pits with engine check lites on.
Guess I won't be trying that trick!

When Dave says 245 it SOUNDS impressive, but when you get into the details he actually means 2:45!!! It takes him 2 minutes and 45 seconds to get from 5c to 8!

What an idiot! People somehow think that more octane gives them more power - its totally false.

More Octane actually makes the gas LESS explosive! the reason for it is you can run higher compression without pre-ignition (from the compression -like a diesel engine). engines are set up and tuned to run certain octane, if you go under you create preignition and if you go over you actually cause the gas to not explode on the upstroke but part way through the downstroke, which is generating less power and really bad for the engine.

Most modern engines can adjust their timing +/- 1 or 2, but that isn't enough to deal with 100 octane, its barely enough to compensate between 90-94 (fuel loses octane as it sits in your tank about 1 RON a month)

Also, race fuel has lots of ethanol in it (how you get to 100+ octane), which is REALLY bad for rubber/metal connections etc that aren't designed to take it - its like the E85 stuff - the car must be compatible or you end up leaking fuel after a while.

Best way to make a Ferrari go faster - learn to drive it!
