Harry’s lap timer pro versus a Transponder

Cool. Now that I have a newer phone I can use Harry's lap timer. Doesn't it also do video overlay of track data onto the video as well? What's a good mount to use? This definitely seems like the way to go if you already have an iPhone, and are just a weekend-warrior type.

I told you Harry's lap timer is the bomb!!

Good seeing you out there though!!

I have the standard version and it's just as accurate.. it's just missing some more advanced features.

I love Harry's Laptimer. Great app.

I personally use this Tomtom window mount, it's been great. It makes the GPS signal stronger for even better accuracy.

I'll post my findings after my next session at Nola Motorsports Park. I have a transponder on the car and will be using Harry's Laptimer Pro with a Dual XGPS150A (5hz) bluetooth gps unit.

I'm using this:

Bought a dedicated cheapy Nokia off of ebay to run it and it works very well. Looks like they have an android port available now, although for me, I'm happy to keep using the Nokia and not risk my work phone flying out of the window

I should mention that it's essentially the same software package that runs on their "paid hardware" unit here:

That link is a good one to go for screenshots, look / feel of what racechrono is doing.
