How good are powerstop rotors?

They are terrible. I cracked 1 set of front rotors after 1 hour of track use, and the other set never made it to the track.
Go with slotted rotors, they are less likely to craze and crack.

Use PowerSlot slotted rotors (different company from PowerStop, although some of the principals are related, I believe).
