How many Type-R NSX are there in Japan?

Just curious

Does anyone have any info on how many NSX Type-R were produced in Japan? A friend of mine asked this question and I had to take a guess and say less than few hundred.

Anyone know?

Waiting for Ken to chime in on this, as he may know better than most. Though i would guess that it's less than 100, maybe less than 50. Been on sale since 2002 (not too long), can't be more than a few sold each year, hence my low estimates.

I think they had older NSX-R is japan as well. I remember seeing early 90's NSX-R's :frown:

From a Best Motoring DVD, they say that NA1 NSX-R production numbers were no more than 500 units. Not sure for NA2 NSX-R, but I'd reckon less than 50.

Yes, the NA1 was available in the Type R model 1993-95, and the NA2 since 2002.
