I have been trying to get people into JGTC racing
http://www.jgtc.net/index_en.htm
especially since speedchannel started showing snippets of the 2002 series (even though they insist on showing reruns of NyaScar). I am sure we have all noticed the two classes of JGTC which are GT500 and the slower GT300 class.
I have been asked why such cars as the Dodge Viper, Chevy Corvette ZO6, Porche GTR, Modena 360 etc. (which would normally give the NSX some serious competition one street/track) are only in the 300 class where the NSX (with the exception of one) Compete in the GT500 class along with the Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, McLaren F1 supercar, etc.

The best speculative answer I can come up with is that our NSXs are capable of maintaining the power output consistently withough putting enough strain on the engines that they could not compete or complete the race. This sounds like too simple an explanation. Can anyone of you technical/race buffs shed some light here.
