first time i called. they hung up on me. I called again and was quoted $1795 for TB and WP only. I asked what about the valves... was placed on hold for 10 minutes and was told no they don't even take of the valve covers to do the timing belt.. i quickly got off the line. I've been really debating about doing this job myself.

While the price is about right (including a valve adjustment and new cover gaskets), obviously they don't seem competent in doing it.
They really aren't hard, they are time consuming. If you are a competent mechanical person, it won't be difficult. Just set aside a day or two if it's your first time, and be sure you have all the tools required before starting.

Yup knocked it out in about 7 hours. Not hard, just a pita
