Meet/Greet/Eat - NOV 1st @ MJ Stevens Hartford, WI + WI Crew + John Vassos Brookfield

Speedmaster, if you can figure a way of getting to WI 83 at Mukwanago, you'll find some decent sections north of I-94 on your way north. At WI Hwy 167 (Holy Hill Road) take a right and head east about 8 miles where you can pick up 41/45 and you'll be about 5-10 miles from the restaurant...exit K.
Hope this helps.

294 to exit 173 to Rte12 to Rte 67 to Rte 16 would be a nice drive but would add some time to trip

I am thinking of driving this route from Lake Geneva

Thanks, Larry. Much appreciate it. Maybe I will see you on the trip up. I am not sure yet what the group has decided as to route, but hope they see these recommendations and we drive backroads.

UPDATED!

The backroad idea sounds fun. I am just unfamiiar with the roads that way so I can't recommend anything.

Yea, I can meet you at Addison. (it's Steven by the way )

It comes with the territory, Stephen Lam. I called Del Larry (inside joke with him.)

See you tomorrow? Let's corner John V and discuss the swap we talked about last time you were over.

Paul and I agree that with the amount of cars we have, it's just easier as a group to take the expressway up.
That way we dont have to worry about people getting stuck by lights, and plus we'd have to leave earlier.

Once we get up there, we have all the time to meet, eat, cruise as a group and take backroads back if we want. And it will be wamer too.

For any of you hi-tech GPS guys out there, here's a list of the turns for the after brunch cruise. I'll be supplying a hand out tomorrow.with a map.
It may look a little complicated but it should be pretty easy. I have taken
into consideration potential problems with traffic intersections, but have
allowed for regrouping areas so we won't get split up.
Exit MC Stevens and head west on K.
Turn LEFT onto Kettle Moraine Road
Head SOUTH and cross Hwy 60
Stop light intersection, we can regroup
after intersection if we get split up here.
1. Turn LEFT onto County Road E
2. Turn RIGHT onto County Road CC
3. Turn LEFT onto Pleasant Hill Road
4. Turn RIGHT onto Feild Stone Lane,
Regroup here before getting onto Hwy 164
Traffic here could split us up here and the
next intersection at 167. We can regroup at
Glacier Hills Park (see 8.)
5. Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 164, heading south
6. Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 167
7. Turn LEFT onto Friess Lake Road
Notice sign for Fox & Hounds Restaurant
8. Turn LEFT into Glacier Hills Park
Regroup in parking lot for possible
photo session. Exit park and LEFT again
onto Friess Lake Road. We could also
take a quick detour at this point for a brief
drive through the Fox & Hounds Restaurant
9. At STOP SIGN, TURN LEFT onto
Hubertus Road
10. Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 164
Don't worry about splitting up here
because of traffic, we can regroup again
at next road.
11. Turn RIGHT onto Elmwood Road
12. Continue on Elmwood Road and
Turn LEFT onto St. Augustine Road
13. Turn LEFT onto County Road Q
14. Turn LEFT onto Plat Road
15. Turn RIGHT onto Yorkshire Drive and
enter into my neighborhood for a Parade
Lap and potential Pit Stop-Optional.
16. Leave my subdivision, back onto
Plat Road north, TURN LEFT at 3rd stop sign
onto Hubertus Road.
17. Merge LEFT onto Hogsback Road.
POTENTIAL DANGEROUS TRAFFIC BACKUP
Hidden stop sign around corner.
18. Turn LEFT onto Emerald Drive (Rustic Road)
19. Potential stop here for photo shoot-optional,
Return to Emerald Drive (left)
20. Turn LEFT onto County Road K
21. Turn RIGHT onto County Road Q and up hill
Tricky left curve at top of hill and other curves
to follow.
22. Turn LEFT onto Hwy 83 and follow south to
I-94. You will pick up I-94 at Delafield area.

THE ABOVE CRUISE WOULD TAKE AN ESTIMATED ONE HOUR DRIVE.
IF WE STOP FOR PHOTOS, IT COULD EXTEND THE TRIP TIME.
FOR THE MOST PART THESE ROADS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION
WITH A FEW SECTIONS THAT ARE SLIGHTLY ROUGH, BUT DRIVEABLE
WITHOUT MUCH CONCERN.

HANDOUTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A MAP.
HOPE THIS HELPS FOR PRE-PLANNING.

Ok, not that we need any more flight leaders in the briefing room but something to think about for the drive to lunch.

X-way is best for ease of staying together and backroads are best for driving pleasure so how about this option:

-> Chgo crew depart LF Oasis at 9am and x-way to Lake Geneva and meet up with others. Meeting place and departure time TBD.

-> We take backroads from there (WI crew to map out) with one or two more gathering places along the way to recapture lost drivers or for others to join from north of LG. Will need targeted departure times from each gathering spot to keep all coordinated.

Will defer to others on the details but if we work bacwards from a target arrival of 30mins prior to lunch, we should have plenty of time to stair step our way up the backroads from LG.

Just a thought. Otherwise I will be going with the flow from the LF Oasis and looking forward to our mini expo to close out the 2015 season. -joe

A decent route from Lake Geneva would be to take WI HWY 83 north at Mukwonago. Stay on 83 until Hwy 167, right on 167 (also known as Holly Hill Road). In appx. 8 miles you will come ro an entrance to 41 north. The exit for the restaurant is maybe 5 miles north. Highway 167 is a good driving road as is 83 north of 94. Just watch your speed going thru the Chenequa / North Lake area (35 limit).

Ahead of schedule. We should be there around 10:45am.

Bangski, we waited until about 9:15. Are you still coming?
