This is a lame and totally off topic, but kinda fun too...

What is the metal album you enjoy the most cruising in your NSX
with? Whenever I do my boulevard pimping I have metal going on... especially friday nights. I don't see many fancy cars driving down the street with metal music blasting where all the trendy wannabe people hang out. At least not in California.

Right now, my destroy all CD changer playlist:

Dark Tranquility - Damage Done
In Flames - Whoracle
Metallica - St. Anger
Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon
Iced Earth - Days of Pergatory
TOOL - Lateralus

So anyone know of good cruising metal?

When I'm in the mood for Speed Metal, there's nothing brasher and harsher than....And Justice For All...... by Metallica. Great for spirited cyn. drives, but NOT while cruising. I'd take Nora Jones instead. :p :D

For metal you gotta have the classics,

Metallica's Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets,
Faith No More's The Real Thing
G&R's Appetite for Destruction, and one of my all time favs
Megadeth's So Far, So Good, So What (you'll probably never hear anything faster)

Dream Theater - Six Degrees of inner turbulence
Queensryche - Operation:Mindcrime
Queens of the Stone Age

I'm a guitar fan so I have
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
Yingwie Malmsteen

in rotation but those are not metal really.

Tool? Rage Against the Machine? These are really heavy metal bands, but alternative Rock. You gotta love Rage. I hate them with Chris Cornell.

Nice! I'm a big fan of all those guys too.

I have all DT and Satrinni's albums.

Anyway... I still was talking about GORE HEAVY METAL!!!

:p

Everyone else here listed wimpy metal or JAZZ! Norah Jones is for recovering during your hang over!!! :)

I guess you are talking about Death Angel, Testament, Slayer that type of stuff? That's early headbangers ball stuff. Late 80's early 90s were good time.

All good stuff. There are actually _new_ good metal being produced todaay... just not in the US or mainstream anymore.
Most are imported from Scandinavia areas. Check out the Gothenburg metal scene. There are some really good stuff coming out.

I would recommend Soilwork and Dark Tranquility's latter albums if you want a taste.

God Forbid "Determination"
Dillinger Escape Plan "Calculating Infinity"
Coalesce "0:12 a Revolution in Just Listening"
Mastodon "Remission"

satriani - "not of this earth" is my fav for cruising in beautiful weather.

Randy

Gotta side with Fangtl on Faith No More and Megadeth.

Newer stuff:

Hatebreed
Rammstein
Rob or White Zombie
Mushroomhead
Stone Sour

Oldies but goodies:

Slayer: South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss
Ministry
Pailhead-(Minstry and Ian McKay)
AC/DC-For Those About to Rock
Bad Brains (hardcore, not really metal)
Metal Church
Pantera
Metallica-Kill 'Em All
Biohazard
Sepultura

These all see regular rotations in my NSX, and will probably be the reasons for my premature hearing loss and frequent Bose amp replacements.

For me its
Iron Maiden--Killers, piece of Mind
Ozzy-Blizzard of Ozz
Megadeth-Peace Sells-Especially My Last Words (Greatest Megadeth Song)
Metallica-Ride The Lightning

I just got a copy of Mushroomhead's latest...not in stores yet, but it is very good.

Viper Driver, I had forgotten about Metal Church! Your post sent deep into my CD storage to dig out some stuff!
