Monterey Sports Car Championships-ALMS Car Corral-Mazda/Laguna Seca - Oct. 9-11, 2009

Just came back from Laguna Seca for preview and pratice runs. It was a nice freebie day. Since my car was so low, they let me park in the VIP parking and all access to the crew pit area. Previewed most of the cars out there. Couple of nice Corvettes out there C6R5 / 2010 ZR1 supercharged. Wouldn't mind one of those beautiful babies.

Anyway, here are just a few pics from this afternoon. Don't want to spoil it for you guys.

For those of you that left early or bopped over to Ichi-Riki for some delicious Japanese food before it all ended (you know who you are), here are the Top 3 of the final ALMS race at Laguna Today. Way to go Acura!! Hope to see at least a few other NSX'ers out there tomorrow. I'll be arriving around 10:30am and staying to the end to see Shad and Kip!

I watched the races on Speed channel DVR. So much easier to undertand what's going on with commentary and arial shots. It was an awesome race between# 46 porsche and# 3 corvette at the last min. until the corvette slammed into the wall. I noticed that ALMS Laguna is scheduled earlier in May 2010?

although there was no tent, no food, no parade lap, etc. this year, i think i had a better time. big groups are fun but there's something to be said about the quality you get from small group meets.

my son had a great time also. he enjoyed hanging out with the "NSX guys".

thanks for keeping things pg-13 too.

Yes, it was a really fantastic weekend. Thanks to Chuck for organizing the Realtime paddock tour. (see this thread)

Seeing Kip's car, meeting Shad and the crew and watching Kip's Sunday race was a highlight.

It was good to see acquaintances and to make new friends. Here's a race queen friend I made  and Kip's car.

See you next time.
