NSX for sale in Victoria

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking at a few in the US and doing my research on NSX prime. Just wondered if this had surfaced before in Victoria.

John

I saw this car today over on Burnside in a lot. It looks nice driving past but didn't get out to take a look.

There is a blue one up Mill Bay area that I think his name is Paul was thinking of selling. Really low miles from what I remember.

I have some more info. Imported from Florida. VIN is JH4NA2165XT000066. I did a quick search on Prime and there is only one hit from around 2007 but some question about the lack of info from 2001-2007 on the carfax. There are more photos on

The timing belt has been recently done, no accidents, has an aftermarket hifi with what looks like a sub woofer in the passenger footwell.

I've met the previous owner (Steve) and he pretty much babied it. Super clean car when he had it! Recent work he had done was T Belt, Valve Adj, Headers + Exhaust, Main Relay

I did stop by for a close look, they couldn't find the file for a while and then after about 10 min they come up with it.
I took a look at it and it looked good until I got to page two there was a salvage YES checked off at one point.
Of course the guys didn't know anything about it. As I had mentioned earlier they could have at least put the thing through the detailer for that $$$.
Oh well keep looking I guess.

Until the salvage popped up I also thought this was a fair price for a car located in Canada. Don't forget we have to factor in a 6.1% import duty, $100 air cond excise tax, $350+ for Registrar of Imported Vehicles, ?? for daytime running lights, ?? for whatever is found on mandatory road safety inspection, ?? travel and or shipping costs and you can easily spend $3000+++ to "Canadianize" a GOOD U.S. NSX, much more if it gets a bad safety inspection.

Well someone needs to find out for sure if the B.C. registration paper states "REBUILT" or not, this has a huge impact on the value - as well as the number of potential buyers -

I cannot believe they would not openly disclose this - it's a HUGE deal.

I saw someone driving this car today. It was out on Burnside Road around 4:00pm.

It sucks that they would let the car out with salt on the road.

^ Exactly what I thought. I guess selling a car is more important. Gotta say though on quick first look the car looks and sounds pretty good.

When I contacted the sales person shortly after it was first posted I specifically asked what they meant by "fully reconditioned". This is the reply:

"The NSX is “fully reconditioned” means it has been inspected and detailed, the timing belt was recently replaced and there is a after market stereo that the previous owner put in. The Acura is from the states it came from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State></st1:place>, I have a CarProof and there are no accidents on the car.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
Please let me know if I can get you any more info on the car."

I am always very careful when an unusual or high performance car is for sale at a regular dealership. While some of them understand the issues and perspectives of potential buyers, most do not. Dealing with a specialist is often more satisfactory. The fact that this car is priced below market (similar ones in the US asking around 45k+, Canadian market higher $$) makes me suspicious.

CarProof is a smaller database used by car dealers to mis-represent their cars.

Trust me a mate bought a 911 that was "perfect" by Car Proofs account yet Carfax and a later inspection both noted the frontal crash.

Buyer beware and do a PPI!

Salvage for any reason = trump card.

You don't want this car. Close the thread. Keep looking and you'll find a perfect NSX.
