...when I turn the key in the lock the door button doesn't pop up. I suspect it's a dirt or corrosion problem in the contacts but not sure. The passenger side opens fine. Can anyone weigh in on this? Thanks.

the key should push the lock knob up if you turn the key.
since this is done by pull and push arms, I think that one has come off the mechanical arms.
when you turn the key it doesnt go up but does the door still open and lock like is suppost to? minus the lock going up?
but I have been wrong 1000's of times before

'91...I have to unlock the passenger door and reach across console to pop up the "lock knob" on the driver's side so I don't think anything has come off the mechanical arms as you put it.
