Procar Specials NSX

Is the NSX-R clutch and flywheel still available? What is the weight difference between the standard clutch set and the NSX-R clutch set?

Hi Detlef,

Is the NSX-R clutch assembly a straight replacement on a 3.2 6speed?

Nice new avatar ... when do we see the real thing?

regards, Paul

No, the R clutch is a twin disc clutch like NA1.
Fine balanced with a special flywheel.
The regular 6 speed transmission needs the R input shaft,
than it will woks brilliant.

Hopefully soon.
The most parts are ready for installation, all body parts are painted, but not all others arrived.
We are still collecting parts and going through a self learning process.

There is still some place for own creativity and detailed weight reduction mods.
You can imagine that's very time consuming too.

May should be a good month for some new pictures, maybe the new interiour cf parts are done until that point too.
Also the new shift lights for the R gauge cluster kit.

What is the clamp force and the torque capacity of the NSX-R clutch? Is there a significant increase in pedal pressure?

This guy has everything Type-r CF except his floor mats. All i saw WAS the NSX stock i think. Why not the type R?

Well, because nsx-r mats only fit RHD nsx's. But I think they might be doing something about it (earlier spy shot post):

We dont have extact numbers, but all should be the same as NA1.
There is also no increase in pedal pressure.
We noticed that the jump starts can be handled much better than before.
If you want we can ask about details.

If it is not to much trouble to ask about details, I would greatly appreciate it. I need a new clutch as soon as possible; already experiencing slippage on existing clutch.

some updates and impressions from today.

The inner front bumper construction is prepared to 95 %
The NSX-R front bumper got a special double aluminium beam, which is only 1.7 kg in weight.
The aluminium construction is really strong, there are no doubts about the stability function.
We can lift the car on it

The old NA1 beam was completly nearly 11 kg, only the beam !
We found another place for the horn and fixed some other details, used duraluminium screws, so the whole bumper is very very light, no comparsion
to the old one.

Since today we also know that the tow hook must be replaced too, the new version is turned 180 °. Damn....we are still collecting parts.

We also got 4 new inner plastic fenders, the old ones doesnt fit perfect.
We must change the rears too because of the new NSX-R side skirts.
The NSX-R door panels we fixed without drilling 11 holes in each door, thats idiocy.

Interesting. What about the washer fluid tank in the front?
In our special case that part was completly removed.

But there is enough space over the aluminium frame to install that part again.
We also removed the 2nd horn, the licence plate holder and some other
parts.

If there are some buyers, we plan to sale that construction with the left and right beam stay parts.

Hi Detlef,
Its good to see the project moving forward. For me its also pleasing to see the build stage by stage to understand the issues/problems for the 02 upgrade, just in case I decide to go this route one day

For now I'll just settle for the 02 sidesills. I believe that the sills are a straight swap for the originals, using the OEM mounting points. You say you are replacing rear inner plastic fenders. Is this really necesary, how bad is the fit and are these really expensive?

But the door pieces installation appears more complex. How have you overcome the 11 holes required  to install these please?

regards, Paul

Paul, please look at the pictures, you can see that we use
a special system for installation.
We are pround that we didnt drill any additional hole into the fenders or doors.

Because we got many inquiries, we decided to produce 10 sets of the superlight aluminium front beams including the side parts and all mounting stuff.
The rest of the bumper parts installation is very easy, because of its lightness, 1 person can do the installation without problems.

Also the additional holders for the NA2 2002+ headlights
(they are not available from Honda) can be ordered from now.
We have 5 sets in stock, nice cnc parts.
We plan to post some pictures as soon this section here at Prime will work again.....and if we got back the headlights.

more news.....
yesterday we adapt the NSX-R under aero plastic cover prototype part.
Seems that this part we got from R&D is different to the standard NSX-R NA2 part,
which we ordered today too for a comparsion.

We have to produce a new cf frontplate now which is longer
for ~ 3 inch, that all parts are together.
We will sale these units especially for all NSX-R conversions into the near future.
Pictures soon.

we will have these projects done until end of march 2007.

cf centerconsole LHD
cf door plates LHD + RHD

cf navigation pod

NA1 blinker covers in clear and smoked version
Any updates on these?

Thanx,

Hi Detlef

You wrote earlier in this thread that the front undercover doesn't fit pre 2002 front.
can you tell me what's reason it doesn't fit.
is there a similiary pice for the old fashion front or is it possible to adapt that undercover to fit the old front.

regads

Carlo
