Tennessee Meet (March) Tail of the Dragon

Let me know what you get. I'll try and get a set that is compatible.
I'm still going. I look at the radar and the entire state of Tennessee is clear. If there was some huge weather band then I would bail out but if it just a chance of scattered showers, I'm still going. But then, my car has been rained on before so it's no big deal. Plus I have an appointment for a full detail when I get back. :biggrin:
Assuming a Monsoon doesn't roll in, James and I discussed the TN group meeting at 8 and then rolling over to the dragon where they will meet up with the NC group at 9-9:15. We can sit around and BS for a while and then head out on MJK's ride or modify it a little to encompass a lunch at Tellico or somewhere.
My preferences for the NC side are to meet at the Burger King in Cherokee at 6:15 and eat some breakfast and then head out for a lap around the triangle and then ending at the dragon at 9-9:15.

I'm not backing out! The BK meeting at 6ish sounds good as well.
Stay away from the Eggnormous Sandwich @ BK. The Dragon & it don't sit well. You can ask my brother if you have any questions..... :biggrin:
I'm still in. Rain looks to be off and on and less than 50% so should be ok. Will only not show if they calling for total washout.

Hi; I'm planning on meeting up with the group, and tagging along for part of the day. I have some old friends in Loudin TN. that I'll be looking up on Friday. I plan on meeting up with the group at the start of the Dragon, on Sat. morning. Howard
well im not on the list.
But its ok since my cousin backed out on me today. And to think the trip was for him.
So unless i find someone to go with me, and the weather has to clear up a bit too. Then im out.

There's a 95% chance that I am still going even if there is 50% chance of rain unless over 70% of the people back out by Thursday at 9 PM and then there is only about a 10% chance that I won't go because I don't want to drive 20% of my day Friday just to spend the other 80% of my time by myself in a hotel room or worse gamble away 150% of the money I brought in a casino that is 0% poker tables in a town that is 100% alcohol free when I could save 40% of a week of my vacation time for another weekend when I don't have a half a million things to do.
In other words, if you are going to bail, please do so by 9:00 PM Thursday so I have time to make up my mind.

Ok Tennessee side people. We need to come up with a central place and time to meet, so we can hook up with mirrorshades on the dragon. My thoughts are, meet up between 7:30am and 8:00am at a central place in Alcoa or Maryville, and then head over to the dragon to meet up with NC folks by 9:00am.
129/Alcoa Hwy splits just south of the Knoxville airport. If you stay to the left at the split, there is a restaurant immediately to the right called Up the Creek. We can all meet there. From that location, the dragon is maybe 45 minutes away across the Foothills Parkway. If anyone has any other suggestions I am all ears.

It's too late for me to bail. I will be leaving in about 2 hours (rain or shine :wink: ). Also a few are local so I won't be the only one. Most everyone has confirmed in the past two days.
I already paid for my rooms so I'm coming for sure. Stayin in Maryville Friday and near Robbinsville Saturday.

OK, I have to admit that I am seriously tempted to come up from Atlanta and join you for the beginning of the drive. I figure it will take about 2 1/2 hours for me to get to the meeting point. There isn't enough time for me to do the whole loop through the park and I would love to do the Cherohala drive instead.
Are there any other ATL people who would like to get out early on Sat AM, hook up with the group, do the Dragon and Cherohala drives and be back in ATL for dinner? C'mon, make this impossible to resist....
