As an observer this year, I am watching with excitement as the list of events is taking shape for NSXPO 2014. I was co-chair for NSXPO 2013. This year I am just another NSX owner/enthusiast waiting with anticipation. The photo above was one of my favorites taken during NSXPO 2013 in Raleigh. Not sure who took the photo - if they identify themselves I will graciously give them credit. Great picture taken over night after some rain had fallen.
Knowing first hand the frustration of coordinating everything.....especially with late breaking commitments and this past spring's restructuring of the Honda/Acura brands didn't help matters. It appears that Acura belatedly is stepping up and recognizing the value of having the NSXCA parked at their doorstep. It's my understanding that an 11th hour intercession by Ted Klaus, Global Director of the NSX Project is producing some significant results concerning Acura's involvement in NSXPO 2014. I'm betting there will be some exciting things offered up by Acura, beyond what has been published. But you didn't hear it from me!
Brian Urlage of Source 1 is heading up the effort for NSXPO 2014. You want to know how hard this guy works - at last year's NSXPO he drove truck & trailer with an NSX and an NSX engine (used for the tech session) non-stop to Raleigh - visited the ER that evening with pneumonia - and didn't miss a bit of NSXPO. Brian tells me he has owned over 20 NSX's.
This certainly should be one of the more memorable NSXPO's. It has all the ingredients. Located near Honda's Ohio headquarters/factories (including the new NSX facility) and the new TRC (Transportation Research Test Facility), the performance manufacturing/research facility. Don't forget the Mid-Ohio race track.
If you are within reasonable driving distance to Ohio, don't miss this opportunity to pack up your NSX and be there during NSXPO 2014! And if you are not within reasonable distance, do what many NSX owners have done - come anyway - drive, fly or take the train!
