What preservative to use on dash?

Looking to get some input on how best to care for the dash and other interior vinyl parts.

The FAQ and the owner's manual state to use a damp cloth to clean the dashboard. I'm concerned that a damp cloth alone won't be sufficient long term to prevent drying and cracking of the dash covering.

What's been the experience of those who have used nothing but a damp cloth on their dash, and those who have used some form of vinyl preservative?

The only two products that I've used are low gloss Armor All, and Vinylex by Lexol. Used in three different cars, the Armor All just seemed to cause the surfaces to attract dust a lot faster than the untreated surface. The Vinylex seemed to repell dust and gave everything a much richer look than the Armor All.

I do not recommend Armor All but do recommend Vinylex. I got it at Pep Boys.
