To keep a long story short...

Wow, I just got up to speed with this thread.

Last thing I remember is that Bob was moving and he had the car apart doing upgrades and in route it was stolen. So now it turns out that the car was stripped and then repo'ed. Hmmm interesting. I bought his CF Gauge Bezel with Trim Rings. Apparently he sold whatever he could to get the money out of it. So Bob was sort of Shifty and had us all punked. Dang.

Not all of us. Running a carfax or autocheck told all a little while ago. There's no shame in the truth, i actually respect that more. I believe someone would have bought the car outright from him. Ok, moving on...............

Okay, well some of us.

Oh well, People make hasty decisions all the time...sometimes they regret them later on. Hopefully it was worth it in the end.

Best of Luck getting the car put back together again. I really like that LBBP.

The paint is in very bad shape though, Alot of dirt ground into it.

I could see the other damage being consistent with someone stealing the car and selling some of the parts, but this screams intentional and malicious vandalism to me and would be consistent with the repo story.

Actually now that I think of it, a lot of people who have their car repo'd think it has been stolen, so Bob's original post about the car being stolen may still be consistent with the car being repo'd. It could also have been a story to cover the embarrassment of having the car being repo'd.

If I recall, Bob was in the real estate investment business and obviously things have not been going well there over the last year or so. Add in a divorce and mounting financial pressures and I could see someone losing it and doing this to the car.

I hope I am wrong and that whatever his problems, if there are any, Bob is able to work them out. That was once one very beautiful NSX and I hope it can be that way again soon.

I concur. Although it is sad to see such an incredible NSX so degraded, it is probably more of a reflection of how low and stressed its owner may have been at the time.

Up until about two years ago, I had an easy life virtually free of trials and tribulations, but after my own "wilderness experience" over these past two years, I have really gained sympathy for others enduring hard times. It is nearly impossible to predict how one would respond under the pressures and challenges that the twists of life can bring, and if the truth turns out that this car was abused and repo'd as it appears, then I can only guess how hard circumstances must have been for the owner of this NSX to have resorted to such measures. If such is the case, his actions were proabably an act of desparation during a time that the rest of his world and his control of it was collapsing.

I am going to bring this gorgeous LBBP back from the dead!

Please do, the poor thing looks like a cadaver after a dissection
It still outshines anything in that repo lot, even filthy with spiderwebs in the tail pipes
The car deserves someone who gives a damn, can get her back into shape and who can truly afford to properly maintain it....not someone who rapes it for parts  Not being able to make payments is no excuse to defile such a beautiful car IMHO.
Good luck buying it

The repoman's behaviour reminds my of the one of dung beetles. :(

Exactly. The first day he posted I sent an email to his company asking why an employee of theirs was posting personal information on a public forum about the previous owner of one of their cars. I never got a response. Sounds like the company he works for has the same ethics as he does.

Maybe an attorney should look into it. I think it's BS and quite typical of people to believe they can kick other people when they are down.

Repoman is obviously a DB and if he does in fact buy this car someone will be sure to alert the bank that some fishy stuff is going on. In fact it might be a good idea to alert the bank about this thread and lock the posts made by repoman. It's a total conflict of interest for the repo people to determine the price to repair the car and then buy it themselves.

I'm still inclined to give Bob the benefit of the doubt, because I simply can't imagine an NSX enthusiast puposely damaging a car out of spite....Also, he says that he's a former police officer....which makes me want to think that he would not make up a false story designed bring about sympathy from other primers...He just needs to post up again and set the record straight...

Anyone notice that ShiftyBob is no longer posting? And DocJohn... I think you owe NSXNOOB an apology.

Lol I was practicing the inocent till proven guilty ideal,,,but I am right along with everyone else who thinks there is a tall tale fish story here.

Oh don't worry. Everytime repoman posts, I've been cut and pasting his threads to a word file in case he decides to go back and edit them. This sort of stuff really bothers me. I don't even care if Bob was lying the whole time or whatever. Someone like repoman shouldn't be doing this to anyone.

Perfect. If the guy ends up with the car I true doubt it will be ethically. The bank can figure that out.

The pictures of the car looks as if someone carefully removed them parts, some of which are still there waiting to be put back.

To the "untrained in the NSX" eye it looks like a big repair, but in reality all the missing parts or replacements can be had for less than $ 2K USD.

Who knows...

Who cares if the repo guy buys the car? He has an advantage that is a perk in his line of work. Also, why is everyone still calling the owner who started this thread by the name of Bob. That clearly isn't his first name and it's just a little proof that there has been some deception here. At the end of the day who cares who gets the car. I think it's childish to call repoman's place of work and to save his postings. He's not the one who stiffed the bank and ended up losing the car.

I wish that was the case, From what I have found out several of the harnesses are cut not removed.. The instrument cluster has some broken tabs on it where the bezel looks as if it was almost cut out. I see what your saying though it seems as if it can be pieced back together but from what the auction has gone over with me it will need some re-wiring.

As I posted before I do believe repoman should get into trouble for posting owners info on this forum, I can assure you the auction will find out about it by me personally. I do not agree with that at all... I can also assure you repoman will not be buying the car, unless he has a dealers license and purchases it like a normal dealer would. As far as it not running today mr. repoman your wrong, they are running it in the tow lane.. I already have my proxy bid in and doubtful your 17500.00 dream will out bid me.

I will let everyone know what happens, I should find out soon.

I was calling him "Bob" because that's basically how everyone knows him on here.

I don't think it's childish at all. I probably wouldn't even care if he posted everything that he thinks he knows, but you don't post personal info about an individual when you are in that position. I'd be pissed if there was a question about something that I was involved in and then another person who I don't even know starts throwing my personal info out there.

I think it's also a pretty big conflict of interest that he plans on buying this car. When I was in insurance, a person would get fired on the spot for declaring a car a total loss and then buying it for themselves. Pretty similar situation here in my mind.

I think everyone is upset that he posted the previous owners info. Not that he may have the upperhand in the purchase.

The repoman has the ability to over estimate the cost of repairs so he can buy the car for less than it's worth. From the tone of his posts I wouldn't put it past him to do just that.

Seems like he's trying to do that. He posts on here with one line that it's not going through the auction today, but according to SOURCENSX, it is.

Guys I would not worry about that being a possibility. I KNOW the auction would not let the person buy the car that made up the price to repair the car.. Trust me on that..

I am sure it has been tried before.. From what I know In order to legally sell a repo you must have 3 bids from qualified dealers.. Not from someone that looks for parts for tow lane cars all day.

All I can do is wish you good luck mate as you are an NSX enthusiast, not just an opportunist who wants a fast buck.
