And it was sad. Almost Pathetic. The whole ride I told my girlfriend, Im not sure what I buying next but it better be fast. I love my NSX's, and Im not selling them but I want to get something FAST (not "quick"). The GTR is really nice, looks unreal and im really digging them.

I don't know... I feel I would get bored with a GTR eventually. When I purchased my NSX it was meant to be an "in between" car. I planned on eventually selling it until the prices came down on the GTR (back then, they were marked up significantly). Anyways, fell in love with the NSX and hope to keep it as long as I can.

how freaking ginormous this thing is

Aren't you the proud owner of a : 92 NSX-Red/Black 52k CTSC/I/H/E/Susp 347 whp

The problem with speed is that you get used to us very FAST (not "quick"). Everytime i buy a "fast" car, when the road is getting narrow if on full throttle and it usually takes 2-4 weeks untill i will have to get bored between gear changes. Grass is always greener on the other side :)

sadly, those cars do nothing for me :frown:

I'd take the R34 over the R35 if you can find one...

if not, go lovefab the X, and get your fix

Yep, I love my NSX and will not sell either of mine. Im just saying that you cant compare a CTSC NSX and a GTR:wink:

I met a guy with a GT-R at cars and coffee last weekend. He has it boosted to 720HP.. well, it was supposed to be, but something broke and now he has a $14,000 repair bill.

The one yesterday had a COBB Tuning sticker on it, but I ran one in my ISF and it was still lightning quick. That car is more than okay in stock form, posting 0-60 in the 3's

I like everything about the new gt-r except for its hideous front end. They really F'd up when they designed the front end.......they should have kepted the aggressive open mouthed look like on the r33,r34.......I am sure someone will make a kit that will make the front end look more acceptable.....but still the headlights look wack also.

It's one of the best bang for the buck cars out there......handles great and super fast.....just super ugly with the front face and they could have made the interior look better.

How about if it had a front diffuser like this along with the canards?

Would that make it look better in the front?
I never thought I'd own the NSX as long as I have since I have car ADD and I said I would never get a GTR either. Never say never.

You know you want one Mike. Do it

Call me crazy, but I love the front end too:eek:

Kid, I'm with you. The GTR isn't a looker till you see it in person. But I think individuals such as you and I look at a car and see more than what is on the outside. We see the sum of its parts, and that is what makes it beautiful. The GT-R is a tour-de-force of engineering that defies simple physics and ultimately ends up with a pig that can fly. If the GT-R was a slow lethargic car, I'm almost certain that we would all agree that it is not a looker. But the sheer fact that it looks like a tank but flies like dart is what draws me to it.

I want one too, and am planning out how and when I will get one of my own. Realistically though, I still plan for it to be the slower of my two cars. I didn't have Comptech build me a 9.5:1 3.5L for nothing!

Thats looks better but it still screams 350z or toyota celica headlights, but more aggressive. I never liked the look of the 350z. I never said I would not get one, but if they made an aftermarket better looking front end then I would be all over it.

Like I stated its a great car for the money, but they should have made the front end look better. The rear and sides are good....the rear keeps the trademark circle lights.

Also Nissan's interior has always been subpar for me.....even with the R34 the interior look cheap.....its like they put all their money in making the car into the motor and the exterior and stopped with the interior. That seems to go with a lot of the japanese sports cars.....a la supra, rx7 etc

I still think the R34 is the best looking out of all of them with the R33 in second place.

Some of my favorite cars from nissan are s13, s14, s15, r33, r34 300zx twin turbo, and older models like 510, 280z, 240z

I see GTR's here on a daily basis, no kidding and have been at stoplights with more than one before. Most owners are pretty cool and the car is fast no doubt about it. I even dabbed on the GTR forum looking at prices which have really come down. I would consider one if they put in a manual tranny one day.....

For now though I have to admit I am bored with my NSX and debating if I should Supercharge it or sell it and get the 360 Stradale or R8. Both of those cars are on my TO BUY scope :)

I was looking the other day at autotrader and there were 2 GT-Rs for $42,000.
I'm assuming something must be broke or wrong with them.

For my next car, I'm thinking:
911 Turbo
Audi R8
GT-R

Problem is, are any of those reliable? I want something I can put 100,000 miles on and still have resale value.

Not much for the styling and the car looks too tall. Plus no manual trans is available so it really doesn't do anything for me. I'll take an M3 instead with a 6-speed!

I read something that it costs 2,000 bucks for all your fluid changes. The full out fluid change on my NSX is normal. I like this car even that its all big but I thought it would cost much less to maintain but for the price and performance its a pretty cool car. This maintenance stuff kind of kills it for me if its true. I have moved on to a R8..... maybe..... anybody know what the maintenance fee is on this ride?

Any exotic or high dollar car that has 100k miles will be worth SHIET! The NSX is probably the only one that can have that kind of mileage and still command a decent value.

And I think the reason is that someone who buys a NSX at 100,000 knows for a fact they have another 100,000 trouble-free miles, and possibly 200,000 more.
I have to think a GT-R that can even hit 100,000 miles without issue will be rare. I could be wrong, I guess we'll see.

Had a student with one on Sun at Autobahn CC. Neat car to ride in on the track. Also it was fun following him and watching the car squirm around side to side as the computer controlled the car. It's kind of weird to see as it moves around like no other car I have ever followed. At first I couldn't figure out how/why the car was dancing like that and then I realized the computer was correcting yaw by controlling each of the ABS brakes individually to correct itself.

And then when you run into a Z06 or ZR1 they will ass rape you after 100 --- and now the new Porsche Turbo (also the GT2) will ass rape you from a dig, and roll on at any speed. These can be modded just as easy as the GTR and are more durable when modded.

GT2 is easily double the price! The Z06 is around 100k right? Don't get me wrong these are all fast cars but targeted at different demographics of people.

Just look at the market now, most people you talk to say NEVER BUY A USED GTR with anything over a couple thousand miles. Do you really think anyone would buy one with even 60k miles? At 100k, you'd have to sell it to a blind man....haha

I think you have confused the Z06 with the ZR1- Z06 isn't anywhere close to 100K.

To each their own and an honest enthusiast cannot deny the engineering and abilities of the GTR but put me in the camp that does not like them and has no interest in owning one.

IMO, they're ugly as sin and call me an old stick in the mud but I still am not interested in a sports car that doesn't offer a proper 3 pedal manual transmission. I don't care how much faster or efficient the 2 pedal manuals are... I'm not that good a driver that it will ever make a difference. I enjoy executing a proper upshift and downshift myself.

Having said all that... my 82 year old grandma would peel the doors off of me in my more expensive 997S each and every time we drag race. But I'm ok with that.
