HOT! gaugeART Video Gauge Adapter

Interesting, my gut says this is wrong as I know without a doubt the early model (91-94) stock map sensor is the standard off the shelf obd1 oem Honda sensor which is 1.7 bar. In my CANBus version of GaugeArt using the 2 bar in the designer was not correct when comparing the readout to AEMTuner due to the difference in scales between 1.7 bar and 2 bar. I recall contacting SOS on the phone about the lack of support for the stock map sensor and I was told to buy a 3 bar.

Did Honda change the obd2 map sensor to 2 bar perhaps?

I trust SOS, so maybe they know something I don't in this regard...

I don't know...My car is a '91 OBD1. The Boost gauge "works" although it is -10 at idle

Anyone running the CAN version? I just hooked mine up and get no display. I am using a VGA to composite adapter that I bought online. The gaugeart forum talks about a powered VGA to composite adapter but I have never heard of that. Anyone using a VGA to composite adapter?

I was looking at that but I don't see how a normal VGA to composite adapter wouldn't suffice.

Apparently a lot of them reset to factory defaults when powered off, whereas the gaugeart one has manual settings. I went with that because didn't want to mess with cheaper stuff in online stores. I.e. buy a $10 one and find it didn't work well i.e. Gaugeart blesses this one.

Has anyone come up with a way to send the gauge art signal through mini usb to google nexus type of tablet?
I have not installed my gauge art since i do not want to install another screen and would like to display it in nexus tablet in my navpod.

have the gauge art version that works with the aem infinity ems

What kind of ECU does the CAN BUS adapter connect to? Does it work with OEM ECU?

Sorry for this stupid question, I am wiring up the can gaugeart convertor from ems 2... I couldn't find pin outs for can +/- (it's using SOS adapter with EMS2), just connecting a normal serial cable to ems (as stated in gaugeart website) doesn't work (I might be looking at the wrong instruction? lol )

The serial cable connection is only if you're using a serial version of the gaugeART Video Gauge Adapter. Since you say you're using the gaugeART CAN Video Gauge Adapter, you'll need to terminate the wires in to the accessory cable. Our instructions state which terminal positions are for CAN H, L, +12V, and ground. If you have any questions, please drop us a line at [email protected].

FYI, the Honda MAP sensor is available as an option in the gaugeART software now.

Chris, I bought the serial gauge adapter from you to run with my aem series 1 ems. It worked great for years. I have just upgraded my ecu to link G4+ extreme which I understand requires a CAN bus adapter. Is it possible to use my current serial gauge adapter to work with the new ems instead of getting a new CAN bus adapter?

So I have the original guageart serial, and recently it started going flakey, displaying "cannot read sd card. please reinsert...or something". It did this on and off for a while, and now only display this.

I tried a new 8GB card formatted FAT32, same error.

What gives? Suggestions?

1. Make sure cables/connections are tight. 2. Reinsert card 3. turn car off/on/cycle.
1 of 3 of these usually resolves issue for me, but rarely happens.(Don't drive car much anymore...)

Thanks, I'll check this but this isn't the display going flakey, it's a specific error message from the unit.

No reply from SoS yet on this either. I'll be pissed if I have to buy a new unit. 3 years old.

Error normally disappears.

I tried all of that, no luck. Thx though,

My apologies....

No need whatsoever.

I got a reply from Wade at SoS - sending me a new card which is interesting. I'll report back.

There should be 3-4 files on the card already. Simply transfer them to another card and it should work.
Chris/SOS emailed me mine.

That's what I thought - I tried a new card, copied files over, no difference.

Got a new card from SoS, copied my files over, all good. No idea what was wrong, but thanks Wade@SoS!!

Do you guys with gauge art experience heavy condensation on your sos screen in the summer? I have the jdm duct and everything is sealed up, but in south Florida, it sweats big time along the screen bezel. However, I have my Ac super tuned...
