Type-S Announced

NSXPO dinner tonight was “lit”. No details on performance numbers from Mr. Ikeda. He DID confirm that the NSX name is not going to permanently die. There will be another NSX, don’t know I’m what form yet. Good news!

Well, obviously any future NSX is going to be all electric...... and the movement will not be as green as everyone claims. It will come with issues. Energy has to come from somewhere, and battery disposal issues, and rare earth elements, and sky high electric rates due to federal taxation due to the loss of the gas tax, but that's a whole different thread....

And I do not see Acura doing much more than a warm over. Certainly could be a "tune" both for the ice and the electrical components, and maybe a bolt on upgrade/replacements, and it would be easy enough to upgrade the capacity and power from the electrical motors and battery, but I feel a let down coming..... we'll see

Imagine if all the the NSX Type S’s were this color…

Hopefully the matte looking silver/gray paint in the teaser pics is available. I'm not a fan of matte paint, but at least it shows Acura thinking a little bit outside the box.

lets hope they offer a JDM type S throw back color..

The color palette at the refresh center is amazing...

Back in the day the HSC produced some wood...

..and then the sports concept.....was a chemical orchiectomy

I'm really excited about what's gonna be revealed this week! In addition to most likely being north of 600hp and other "performancy" stuff, that front fascia update is very intriguing (which they've really kept hidden). With what little that's been circulating seems to show a significantly longer front-end section(from the front tire forward) which will hopefully give the nose that exotic "wedge" look.

This user render is based on the above which seems to follow the spotted camo-wrap's visual cues pretty well...

Still a little busy for my taste, but if you remove the front hood intake vent it could look like...
youtube_render_without_vent.jpg

and still after removing more panel lines...

and finally, if bottom vent panels are darkened (like on some McLarens) it could look even simpler...

Forgot to mention that based on the camo-wrap pics, it also looks like they (hopefully) didn't go with the superman-pentagon-grille and finally realized as long as it has the (/\) badge slapped on it they're all good brand-wise.

With a little more side-by-side comparo's the new "perceived" nose height to us onlookers (i.e. where the visual hood ends in the front) is not only longer (as seen in the previous post) but also like it may be lower than the existing perceived hood line (which is at the 3rd blue line from top). Can't know for sure since it's silhouetted and unable to see what's painted and what's black plastic.

If I recall correctly, the new visual end point (2nd blue line from the bottom i.e. where the new front end paint appears to end) is where N Spec had said the 2017 front end was geometrically when he studied it, however, we discussed/debated that because of the way they treated the front finish, it never looked nor felt like it was at that lower point. Well, perhaps now hopefully it will without a doubt. Can hardly wait...

Vf2ss - wow, good stuff. I'll take the current front end. Hard to believe the length of the car can grow approx 6" based on above? I def like the rear diffuser similar to the orginal concept from 2013 and AIMGAIN body kit.

Quick update:
1) Top 30 stores in terms of NSX/PMC edition sales volume will receive 2 guaranteed allocations
2) Stores 31-70 will receive 1 guaranteed slot.

Any stores outside the top 70 and any extra orders that the top 70 place will be waitlisted for the remaining <200 slots.

Stores must be an NSX dealer to place an order.

$10,000 deposit required by Acura at the time that the order is placed.

Stores cannot place an order without customer info and deposit, so you wont see available cars in the showroom unless a customer backs out.

Good info^^^^^^ so no spec cars...

as of tomorrow you ask your local dealer..

I gots my beer goggles on...

This illustrates the reason Honda couldn't sell AK-47s in Kandahar. What petty nonsense for a car that almost nobody gives a crap about.

nice to see your rendering again.Remember all the what ifs when NC1 first came out...we had some amazing in depth style discussions...

So will the cars be built (& specced) to order by the customer ?

What happens if less than the full allocation of orders comes in to US dealers - will Canada or Europe or UK then be able to order cars?

How many of the 350 will be RHD?
