comptech returning????

Were they in the $6k+installation range?

If Brian was there, and if Brian was able to run a group buy, then you would probably end up paying $7900 shipped.

But, if Brian is not there, then who knows. Not to mention Comptech may be able to offer prices that were as low before the closing. I wouldnt expect pricing too be below that. Comptech needs to make money to stay in business.

Just my opinion.

Then Brian must've really liked me because I paid less than that for my NA2 Targa kit.

When was that? During the March groupbuy? There was a price increase by comptech just before the last groupbuy ended. (at least the last groupbuy that brian hosted). Mid way through the groupbuy Comptech raised their prices to their vendors. In turn the prices were then raised up from Brian.

I believe the starting price for the last groupbuy from Brian was somewhere around $7300, then it went up from there. That was back in October 2006. Feel free to check his thread (http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77140)

I should not have posted this up, but since Brian no longer works at NOPI, and that the prices for the CTSC will not be the same, I am not worried. I just wanted to give some people something to think about when it comes to how much the kit may end up costing.

I also think that the price for a CTSC won't be cheaper than last time. But who cares if you pay 7k or 8k. If you do FI you shouldn't pay it with your last penny in your pocket.

I agree: NOPI would be a candidate for a GB.

I definitely agree. I was just trying to be helpful incase those who dont have the means think they can get one for $6000.

If they can, wow, I will be upset :)

Some of the installers were not too happy with the group buy because they make $$ on the sale of the sc as well as the install. Also the issue on who warrants the labor if sc was defective for any reason.

You Pervert!

You are joking.... I paid $8200 or $8300. You got the same kit for at least $400 less?!

I think I got in the GB before you Matt.

I understand wanting a good price but can we all remember a few weeks ago we just wanted them back?? lets let the guys who have taken great care of our community and invested quite a bit of time and $$ earn a living too

What better way of earning a living then selling 10+ supercharger kits!

You should be Happy to OWN an CTSC

With all the parts that need to be fabricated for an SC kit and the fact that CT has decided to sub ALL the manufacturing, casting, and electronics...........you will be lucky if you see another "NEW" CTSC kit anytime soon.
Let alone 10+ at a low GB price

I just hope that the few investors that took interest in CT can make it a viable business again.

Good luck CT, we want you back. Even if we have to pay ~$400 MORE

I know. I am not unhappy with the price, but I think everyone in the GB should get the same price. It looks like there was a $1000 difference between the pricing for the same GB members on the same EXACT kit (I am not mixing targa and non targa kits). I know several of us paid $1000 more than certain others. Thats a HUGE difference. How would you like it if I started a GB and gave everyone a different price than you?

BTW I don't believe this was Comptech's decision, I think it was Nopi's.

If I recall, NOPI didn't post the GB price and you had to PM him for the comptech SC. I'm always a little skeptical when vendors do this. Your experience with diffrent prices has recomfirm why.

I realize that they may have many other reasons why they do this, one being that the Comptech didn't want NOPI to advertise the price.

But it always give me a little reassurace that I am getting the best price I could get when they make the price public.

The GB price was less than that, but if you remember, there was a price increase right before commited to buy. There was a $1000 Price increase after last year's GB, that probably explained your price.

Every one I have spoken to during last year's group buy who met the same criteria had the same price I paid. The reason NOPI don't want to make it a public price discount annoucement was most likely due to the fact that most of the reputable venders will not publicly display pricing that is far below MSRP. I know couple of local Comptech Venders compaint to Comptech after finding out GB price. One of them even said the price will never be offered again.

I don't believe Comptech EVER annouced that they are closing; in fact, their website has been up uninterupted. Through the grapevine, people talk about it and snow balled.

Nice selling tool JeffShoot.

I could live with a price variance because at the time you decide to buy a unit the decision was the right one. If prices change over time it's not unusual, just think about gas prices. The NOPI GB was a very great one and was nearly unbeatable unless you work at Comptech.

Vance are you saying you were in the group buy from the year before and thats how you got that price? $1000 is a HUGE difference!

Dave

Vance got in on the same GB that you were in. How do I know?
Because I took his spot when he decided not to get it.

I have one question for the heard of people that are saying now that they would buy a CTSC if they came back....why didn't you buy them before??

When the company was in business and NOPI was giving discounts, THAT probably would have been a good time to buy.

Very good remark. :) I think that has to do with psychology. Something has to be 'called' dead until it gets attractive. This has been so with Lady Di, Ayrton Senna and other people who died.

Don't get me wrong but as soon as the new price of the CTSC is published you'll hear sentences like 'it has gone up in price, so it's not worth to me anymore'

The NOPI deal was an outstanding one. I'm waiting for the CTSC again and would buy one even without a GB if the price is in the desired range (and this doesn't have to be 7 or 8k :))

Could anybody please write a feedback as soon as he got CTSC from next week on.

Human nature: opportunities look much bigger & better leaving than they did coming.

Now that the opportunity is gone: it looked really good.

The other problem is that $8K has a lot of utility. Despite the fact that the CTSC is the absolute best value (HP) for the money, the amount of money could be spent on so many other things in your life.

People would rather have much less return on their money as long as the utility of the expenditure is low.
