    tuning strategies with E85 FlexFuel

I've always given customers base maps to drive out a couple tanks of E85 before a tune. I have had someone drain a tank as best he could, but still had him drive out a tank of E85 before I would touch the car. Between 70% and 85%, I do not place much worry. CL will target Lambda and the...

    Power to run sc?

If the 8psi turbo were an exact matching curve of the SC, it will be faster, however, you can size the turbo (or SC) so that it will run out of steam and die up top as well (or make it large and peak boost is made at higher RPM). There are a lot of variables to work with, but the turbo won't...

    Power to run sc?

Ah, I see. Since all I've really seen done on the NSX's were PD blowers, I assumed this was one of them.

    Power to run sc?

    That's fine, but we weren't talking about a centrifugal:confused:

    Power to run sc?

Twin screw ("screw-type") blowers are not the same classification as a roots even though they are both PD and look similar on the outside. Internally, they operate very differnet, aside from internals spinning. http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/general-info/twinscrew-vs-roots-fromcatalog.pdf

    Power to run sc?

I was under the impression that both were screw-type blowers. I fully understand how they work.

    Power to run sc?

Define "way less"; and how do you figure that?

    Power to run sc?

The drag the SC produces will vary at different loads as it is not a constant. I HIGHLY doubt the CTSC (or like) is using 200hp to turn the blower. I'd image on some of the higher boost setups with the blower, it would be roughly around 50hp +/- 20hp. As far as comparing a turbo to an SC...

Are you runnning Ball bearing turbo?

Generally in every car I've seen with coolant lines running to the TB, it is used to keep the TB from freezing in the open position during cold/wintery operation. I would guess that not many here, if any would be driving the car in the winter anyway. With that said, I have had a buddy have...

    Question about boosted NSX

Thank you. The stock motor was 9.8:1 and the forged piston motor is 9.5:1. I can't say for sure what the heads are flowing, however, the intake ports have been gasket matched, +1mm larger valves, stiffer springs and "stage 1" cams. Now that I no longer live in Denver, CO, I am maxing...

    Question about boosted NSX

I should probably actually scan the sheet, but here is a closer look: The below graph was with the stock motor with some intake and exhaust work when NA, then the same motor with 9-10 PSI. Back then, I wasn't having the issues I had with the latest runs and I was able to run it up to 8k...

    Question about boosted NSX

Hmmm... It's been so long, but it's firing something in my brain. Give me some time and I'm sure I'll think of his name. He probably bought his SC kit from SHO Shop. I'm sure he has some stories to tell about being screwed over by them, I know I do. I picked up the pipes and SC bracket...

    Question about boosted NSX

Thanks for the comments. I agree, the Yamaha is the only reason I ever thought about buying the car (I've had this car for a long time). Stock whp was around 185whp. My last dyno without a tune, no secondaries (no low end), and and electrical issue net me this: I'm glad the rest of the...

    Question about boosted NSX

I'm strictly referencing power, the NSX is a far superior car. With that said: I'm definitely not a street light racer as it has no traction. No automatic found here either.

BBSC Supercharger with E85 Fuel Conversion Finished Results "508 RWHP"

A Bosch 044 would allow the same and is capable of delivering more pressure than the Walbro's. Those Injector Dynamics are capable of handling very high pressures. I have the same injectors and the 1,000cc injector can be made to safely flow just like a 2,000 cc injector.

BBSC Supercharger with E85 Fuel Conversion Finished Results "508 RWHP"

Just so I'm reading this right... You have THREE fuel pumps? Have you considered using just one inline Bosch 044 fuel pump in conjunction with the intank pump? Nice numbers!!! I bet that thing rockets!

    Question about boosted NSX

I agree that these are legit questions. As someone that's looking to possibly purchase an NSX, I know that stock power levels (or bolt-ons) will not satisfy me when I have a Ford Taurus that's faster. I know that one of the things I will do I boost it. I've been browsing the forum quite a...

Need piston ring end gap specs

As I'm sure you know, rings are not created equal (different thickness, composition, cut, etc) and that is why it is ALWAYS recommended to follow the manufacturers specs when sizing rings. On both my Wiseco SHO builds, I used the PDF I posted earlier and 5 years later, one motor is running very...

    Have you seen this

That's an NSX? Could have fooled me. Someone probably should have saved for the Ferrari. Personally, if you're going to do that to a car, why not start with a Fiero? To the guy who said "epic"... Do you mean "blah", 'cause everything is "epic" this days.

best choice for another track car?

My buddy recently asked my recommendation for this same question and a C5Z, Evo, STi, M3, and Terminator are what I've recommended to him.

Need piston ring end gap specs

A forged piston should come with specs for ring end gaps for different applications. If not, check their site... Here is what Wiseco provides: http://www.wiseco.com/PDFs/Manuals/RingEndGap.pdf

Tuner ? on timing when running methanol combined with an intercooler or aftercooler

I wish I could remember that off the top of my head, but I haven't measured it out in 5 years and since the car sees such little use (5k miles in 5 years), I haven't messed with it lately. When I get home next week, I can certainly measure it.

S/C NSX That Much Faster Than Stock?

After looking at the CTSC kit, I would definitely recommend taking the above advice and going with a turbo setup. $10k is a little excessive for the power advertised.

Tuner ? on timing when running methanol combined with an intercooler or aftercooler

I haven't tuned an NSX, but I've always used a the rule of subtracting 1 degree of timing (over stock) per 2 PSI of boost. With meth, you should be able to advance your timing, but depending on how much meth you're injecting among other factors, it would be hard to gauge. The best you can...
