You can get the charger cord in there and centered properly with a little bit of work. I originally was attempting to use a 90 degree cable in the headphone jack, but ended up just connecting it using Bluetooth instead.
USA spec iPod adapter to the factory head unit. $30 Belkin Bluetooth hands...
The original 7 inch galaxy tab fits into the Nav Pod. So does the 7.0 plus.
You will occasionally need access to the power button, so find a way to easily remove it, or add a hole to the Nav Pod to press it with a key or something.
The Galaxy Tab Navigation thread listed here should have most...
The 7 inch galaxy tab fits perfectly into the pod. Without some modification, it is not practical since there would be no way to press the power button or change the volume of the navigation.
I ended up just having a bracket made for it and using the car dock...
The Pioneer's seem to be the most popular.
AVH-P3200BT (needs a separate GPS module)
AVIC-Z130BT
Touch screen car stereos have not really changed in the past 5 years and are mostly still using low resolution resistive touch screens. Hopefully they will take a page out of the tablet market and...
I agree with s4play, a custom shop can give you a better overall finish. Just make sure you choose a reputable shop and see samples of their work. Atleast make sure they center the radio properly...
I would have to ask him which set of amber you are using (he used 2 different types) but possibly.
I am using different whites that allow me a much tighter spacing but have similar light output with longer run times.
I'm working on side markers next. Did you paint over yours or are they led as...
The area around the LEDs (behind the lens) is already carbon fiber. It's far more noticeable in person. Dinoc doesn't hold up to well exposed in Arizona.
Yes the Galaxy Tab does fit in a Nav pod. That was my original plan for it, but it was not such a good idea in practice. Sometimes you need to get to the power/volume buttons or take it out for custom firmware updates and to load music(although you could do that before you put it in). Not to...
Finished up my set based on Mugen_Kid's idea and I am quite pleased with the results. Since he is no longer doing them for new customers I will build a set for anyone interested.
They can be done in any layout in either Amber or White. The Running lights can alternate with the blinkers...
Here is a shot of my current setup. I have a 7in Galaxy Tab mounted where the NavPod is to give me Navigation/Touchscreen.
I have found it to be much more responsive and customizable then choosing a touch screen head unit.
I'm about so start the same project so I've been playing with a few head units to decide.
I don't believe the app radio is ready yet. The interface and apps available are both lagy and bugy. Possible just needs a software update, but most likely I'd wait for a version 2.
I'm leaning towards...
I played with one in a friends zo6. It feels like android used to, half done.
The interface is laggy, the 4-5 apps he actually had didn't/barely worked.
That said it did have some potential, but I'd wait for a software update or a version 2.
Sorry for the delay, I had a family issue come up that gave me some time away from my car to rethink the design some.
If anyone else is interested in a set let me know.
I completely agree with you Hapa88. The generic aftermarket "Honda Civic" add on is the look I want to avoid. Although I must say I do like alot of your custom work s4play (in light 02+ and s2k work).
I think generalizing "9/10 car owners want" is a bit self serving to say when you are trying...
I've seen mention of this in quite a few threads but no one ever goes into detail.
Supposedly there is a modification you can make to the early 91+ flasher relays to bypass the load detection and get rid of HyperBlink. Does anyone have the info?
Thank you.
Sadly I disagree. I find the current LED tail light offerings look tacky re using the stock diffuser. There is a reason cars these days don't come looking like that from the factory.
$1000 for something that keeps the old look, just makes it brighter seems like a waste to me.
I do agree that...
I'm working on a set for myself that are closer to that. I tried the whole acrylic rod and found the results inconsistent (as far as matching left and right and light output staying uniform for that length).
I wound up going this way.
It still uses individual LEDs but many more at a much...
Wanted to post some night time pics, sadly my camera will not allow me to fine tune to the same ability as John's. I may have to have him take some shots for me this weekend.
Stock lights on the left, these turned out very bright. I would venture to say brighter then my 55 watt HID's...
