Acura NSX Vs. BMW e46 M3

I also have both a stock '02 M3 6 sp and a '91 NSX with I/H/E, short gears, suspension, etc. The M3 is a great "if I could only have one vehicle to do everything" car. The engine is very nice and as said has more midrange torque making it easier to break the tires loose. Not so with the NSX. I...

    Farewell to my NSX!

I don't mean to hijack the thread but, yes, I am running 3" lift OME suspension with 295/75-16's (33.5") tires. The NSX is running 18x8/19x10, 225/35-18 and 275/30-19.

Nitto NT 555, Toyo TS1, or Falken FK451

Go with Bridgestone S-03's. Often cheaper than the T1-S and better. Like Apapada said, don't skimp on tires.

How long does the spare tire last?

I once read the shelf life of a tire is about 7 years. I would say 14 years is pushing it. I once bought a truck with 15+ y/o tires on it. Two tires blew out on the 30 mile drive home. One first, changed to spare, then another just a few miles later.

which lugs for high polished wheels?

Oops, sorry, Polar is right. I was too focused on the polished finish and not that fact that they are aftermarket wheels.

which lugs for high polished wheels?

Get chrome lug nuts for your highly polished wheels. Acura sells them as well.

could pick up '91 NSX converted to targa, opinions?

Bad idea. Run away. It will not be nearly as rigid as a factory targa.

    18" Tire Size

Just wanted to add that each NSX is different. Take a ruler and measure the distance from your rim's lip to the outer edge of the fender. It's likely that the left side is different from the right.

    18" Tire Size

Re: Re: 18" Tire Size 18's both front and rear? I think he means 215/35-18 or 225/35-18

18.5 Inch Fronts Will Or Won't

I have had 18x8.5" with +45mm offset and 225/35-18's Toyo T1-S work fine w/o rubbing. I had slightly modified the fender liner (rear most section) from an earlier combination. Worked just fine. No rubbing whatsoever.

    Front tyre size for 18x8.5

Yes, you'll have clearance and TCS issues with the 225/40-18's. 215/35-18's are barely wide enough for a 8.5" width rim--it'll work but be very stretched. Most likely any tire you put on the fronts will give you clearance issues (at full lock) because of your offset. I understand you need that...

what to do with my civic?

If money is an issue, go with the Civic. Mini parts are a lot more expensive, not easily available and less reliable. Civic aftermarket parts are everywhere. You can spend more time tracking the car and less time fixing it. Btw, I love the old Minis too.

Can u "polish" your front running lights?

Sure, you can polish all the plastic lenses on your NSX. I've used Meguires Polish Cleaner and Polish. The cleaner is the most effective and then use the Polish if you really want to get serious about it.

    tires sizes for 18/19 setup?

As usual, Nsxtasy, gives good, safe advice. But if you ask me, I'd go with the 225/35-18 and 275/30-19 because that is what I am running. No TCS issues, no rubbing issues. My front wheels are 18x8 with a +40mm offset. As long as your calipers clear the spokes, you should be fine.

    $3.00/gal GAS!!!

For me: 15,000 miles/year 20mpg 750 gallons/year $1500/year at $2/gal (before) $1875/year at $2.50/gal (now) $375 more per year. $31.25 more per month. I'm okay now but when it hits $3 around here, I'll start beechin'.

    Enkei wheels

From the link you posted, it says the wheels only come in 7" width. I don't think you'd want to put those on the rear of your nsx.

This is nicest FairLady Z I have ever seen...

Yes, I've noticed on some titanium exhausts (especially Karts) that they weld instead of mandrel bend. I thought it was because they wanted to change the diameter from like 1.5" to 4" or needed tight bends. Seems like a lot more work than to mandrel bend. C'mon there must be some material...
