This device is a mechanical device to prevent the factory ECU to see a voltage from the MAP sensor out of range of what is expected.

Most forced induction applications will use an engine management system that then does not require this sort of device. For applications that do keep the factory ECU and no engine management, it's a much better to use an electronic voltage limiter like the SmartMAP.
