Bad odometer

I am helping another NSX owner who has a 91 NSX with a bad odometer. He was told that he needs a new”stepper motor”. Is anyone familiar with this part and were to source it? He has been looking but is unable to find it.

If its for a North American car, new odometer mechanisms are unavailable. You can get JDM odometers from Amayama and perhaps the stepper motor is the same.

Makes for an expensive guess if it doesn't fit. Probably better to look for a salvaged instrument cluster or perhaps the stepper motor from some other Honda product of the same vintage fits.

The stepper motor can be robbed from other Honda clusters.
