GTR vs. NSX size comparison - (GTR-HUGE!)

Great picture!! Now I have a better idea on how the gtr looks compared from the magazine reviews.

I'm not really into the GTR, but my guess is the only people calling it a "Poseur" car are the guys in high end exotics that cost 3 times as much that are getting spanked by it. Without all of the electronic nannies it would just be another car like the Viper (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Yup. I think this is common with new car technologies. I'm sure there were people saying the same thing when ABS was developed - "what! I can threshold brake better than that computer can!" . I think the launch control is more of a fun little feature. The transmission will be criticized more by the old schoolers. But I guarantee that once someone experiences it they will understand that it's an evolutionary step that needs to be accepted. I rented an A3 with a DCT and it was really cool. Kinda weird at first, but very cool. I'm sure the GT-R in 'R' mode is just unreal.

I'm not talking F1 cars, or $1 million dollar exotics. Everyone knows rich daddy needs help to do anything, much less wreck an Enzo.

If you compare the 911, the Vette, a turbo charged NSX etc....to this GTR, well, the GTR seems like a cop out........where is the spirit? Why not just install auto pilot?

wow!!! the GTR looks great, that is my next white car!! (as soon as they come down to msrp that is)

I think this is too much car for most people:

I also hate that cars are getting ever more bloated and heavy.

I recommend this:

The Lotus Exige S240. While they are too "raw" for some people, they weigh less than 2100lbs and have 240hp. That would be like an NA2 NSX with almost 370hp!

Colin Chapman (the founder of Lotus) philosophy: "Simplify, then add lightness."
Sounds good to me...

My thoughts exactly. The "human element" will always attempt to defend itself whenever new technology threatens to push it aside, if not obsolete it. ABS, power steering, gear synchros, and (I suspect) even power windows and locks, come to mind - and those are just automotive technologies.

Even additional forward gears like 4th and 5th (and nowadays 7th and 8th) were thought to be unnecessary when first introduced. Hell, even the automobile was criticized by horse proponents and those who preferred walking.

I for one accept and welcome all the new technologies the GT-R brings.

I don't really care about the size of the car or the electronics--you don't have to use the launch control to drive the car... I have owned many cars, and at the top of the list of the ones I always wanted were the NSX and the (skyline)GT-R ...
I had a 93 white nsx for a while, and I have a 04 now.
They were/are far and away the best, most enjoyable cars I have ever had.
I am just happy they are finally bringing the Nissan out in the states. I've got a white on pre-order, and I can't wait to get it ...

Are they all right hand drive??? Nevermind, it seems all the videos I've seen and pics even those that look like they're in america were right hand drive. The ONLY exception I've seen were from "inside track(?)", their vids and pics were of left hand drive.

Ive seen those photos before, but this is the first time Ive had a chance to post about what I think..

I have to say, when a NA1 Nsx is posed next to a r35 GTR, the NSX looks VERY dated.

Dont get me wrong though, I LOVE my Nsx, and cant envision myself selling it.

I sat in the GT-R tonight when Nissian was moving the cars out, Pretty nice car inside I do have to say, is it NSX nice? Nope but it is better then most cars out there, hand stitched leather and such but it's huge one the outside and once you sit in it and close the door it's not so big feeling. Also it sounds pretty good nothing special I was thinking G35ish at idle. Nice car but not 10k+ over msrp nice. Also that super silver or whatever, it shows EVERYTHING and I will not be getting that color.

From another forum.

"This reminds me of the really cute chick who you start dating, bragging to all your friends how cute, then hot she is. Then one day you mean her REALLY hot roomate. Now all of a sudden your girl is just ok.
your girl=gtr
hot roomate=nsx"
