Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Ryan, were were at Est Fest as ambassadors of the US so didn't arrive home in time for a Baker's run.
Over 600 miles of fun-filled weekend adventure for sure though
Cody, glad to hear that you survived the AZ trip and got to try out the new circuit at Gingerman!
Yesterday (Memorial Day) Jeff was able to come over and drive our red car to evaluate the exhaust system, but mother nature cooked up quite the storm halfway through our truncated drive.
Big winds, torrential rain and yeah even some (thankfully!) smallish hail caused us to bail and head back to the safety of the garage.
We'll give it another shot Jeff, and we hope you made it home OK after the storm passed (many branches down)

Was just looking at the Est Fest post. Looks like you all had a great time.
We didn't even make it to Bakers ourselves, other plans ran long. But had the NSX out regardless and enjoyed the weather.
Glad you guys made it out of the hail. Mines been through 2 hail storms in the past by the same type of quick storms...aluminum is stronger than I thought!

PS. Did you guys get an Est Fest shirt? Looks like a pretty cool design on them. :p

Hey Ryan,

Yes, we got Est Fest shirts, and as a matter of fact, we got a couple for you and Bree. It was cool that you did the design, they turned out great!

:smile::smile:

Nice pix, Neal

OK, the weather looks pretty good (cooler and less humid) for Baker's today........who's in?

Judi (& Brian)

WELL! Finally a decent weekend here in Meeechigan. It's gonna do something different on Monday:  Rain.

Great to see the RED A-M V-8 BEAST again (V as in VANTAGE) today for a power run to Toledo, OH, Cars-n-Coffee (and hear it, too) - Thanks Scotto and Charity for hitting it up both days. We got some miles in! (Sorry, no red royal flush today.)

Love-FAB car was at Baker's this afternoon. Ah, summertime. 3 car shows in two days plus aggregate 260 miles onto Imola - doesn't get any better.

That AMV is hot! I've already told my wife that it's going to be my next car!

Any pics from the Cars N Coffee?

Here are some pics from Toledo C&C....

Sorry I missed you all yesterday. I swung by (had an open house at my son's day camp at 2 PM on Old Plank Rd) around 3 PM but no NSXers there yet. I did meet a very nice fellow with a black S2000 who is acquainted with Brian and Judi. Boy, if I told my wife my next car was going to be an Aston Martin, I'd probably be getting a new wife as opposed to a new car!

Best,
Jeff

Looks like I missed out on some fun this weekend. Didn't even manage to get the NSX out at all. :frown:
Looks like any forced induction plans are again going to be postponed. Bree and I are closing on a new house (well new to us) in a few weeks in Farmington Hills. We are really excited about it.....I am excited about the garage.
Its a large 2 car...but it is about 80 ft deep with a couple heated/air conditioned workshop areas attached behind it....so I think I'll have to open up a wall for more car parking
Anyone hitting Eyes on Design this weekend? I have never made it all these years and am really going to try this year.

Hey Ryan happy to learn of your news and large garage in F'ton Hills - sounds good!

Jeff we heard at Baker's yesterday there was a red NSX there earlier in the afternoon - assume that was you?

Koji, I was too busy flapping my gums to get some photos at the Toledo CNC yesterday, but have a look here:

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=795990

Brian and I had a house warming party to attend in Belleville yesterday at noon, so we didn't get to Baker's until probably around four. Brought the turbo, which we haven't had at Baker's ever, so it drew quite the crowd! One of the photographers we met (Michael Shuster) mentioned that there had been a Formula Red NSX, and we weren't sure if it was Ryan or Jeff. Ryan, that is excellent news about the garage with attached house, post some pictures for us. Jeff, I'm quite sure the guy you talked to with the black S2000 was our friend Peter Morton, and the car he brought is the Club Racer edition, which we haven't had a chance to drive as yet. He bought that car after falling in love with ours when he drove it last year at the Baker car show. It was funny, but as we were leaving, the sun was shining a whole lot more than it had the entire day, and it was actually quite warm!

Judi

Ryan, way to go on the garage-with-attached-house score!
Now YOU need to get that ginormous H O N D A light

Jeff, sorry our paths didn't cross on Sunday.......
Like Judi said, brought the turbo anyway but man I think it's exhaust note drew a big bunch of people over to check it out.
One young man even talked me into giving him a quick ride (I think he liked it ;^)

When we went inside for dinner our car was a bit lonely, but we were happy to see that Neal was there after his softball game.

I have to agree, the exhaust note on the LoveFab car is one of the sweetest I've ever heard. Do you still have the baffle out? I am sure whoever got the ride is still trying to comprehend it.

I'll post pics eventually of the new garage (with house). It basically looks like carguy's house..... (ok maybe not).

Yes, still baffle-out

Let's see, you'll have to beat 11 garage doors IIRC to top Carguy's new digs (er, good luck with that ;^)

Some great MI meets coming up July 10-11 weekend.

But before that, last Saturday I showed at the St. Ignace Car Show in St. Ignace, MI. (North side of the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for any non-Michiganders/ganians looking in.)
Weather cooperated. Must have been 1,500 cars and specialty vehicles showing – many 50-60-70-80(?) USA muscle cars showing. Walking the length of “Main Street” to view all of the display vehicles was over an hour and likely a mile. My pal showed a 2005 Mercedes CL550 V-12 black on black. Of course, there was only one NSX in the show.
Must tell you, Cody (LoveFab) has a hell of a following! Likely 15-20 times people said “I know a guy that has an NSX” or “A guy I know builds these NSX’s.” Each time I’d ask if they were from the Traverse City area, and hear “yes.” Cody? “Yea, you know him.?” Conversation ensues… and Cody, one ole boy says he’s been missing you at the drag strip!
The NSX showed well, and I had even had a sign made up for it (yea, I know, it’s cheesy. So what?).
Couple of photos. Some very nice Fieros in attendance, several from WI.

In afternoon, the Michigan Avenue Cruise, from Dearborn west to Wayne. Yea, U S 12.

Sunday, July 11:

It’s BYOB and lawn chair – lotion – rubber ducky – live band with a smoker trailer making food to purchase. Real nice time and cool cars!

Great:frown: Events and I am again on call. I wonder if someone looks at certain summer events and then puts me on call. Have fun

Nice pics alum04!

We are certainly planning on the Crazy Curtis car show again, and hopefully Baker's after.

Just gotta love summer..........

Not enough opportunity to show and see cool cars this weekend

I forgot to include Friday's 2P-10P Ann Arbor, MI, "Rolling Sculpture Car Show."

"More than 400 cars will be on display along Main, Liberty, Fourth, and Washington Streets." Free admission. "Downtown Ann Arbor will be transformed into a showroom for exotic, classic, antique, and concept cars."

Per various links, may be an Audi R8 Spyder (V-10?) there plus others.

More: http://mainstreetannarbor.org/2010/06/rolling-sculpture-car-show-july-9-2010/

Thanks for all the car show info Neal! Maybe I'll try to hit the rolling sculpture one on Friday. I went to Autozone and the C&C meet at Kart 2 Kart last Saturday.
Went around the NSX 4 times yesterday, washed, clayed, polished and waxed it. Paint looks wet and feels unreal now. Needed it bad. Sorry Tim! I got antsy yesterday and had some time to tackle it!
I still want to try to get some sort of NSX gathering together for those who are interested, just haven't had time and not sure exactly when I'll have time with the upcoming move next week. But the summer is going by fast so I need to get on that!
If anyone is interested let me know what weekends/dates will and wont work for you.

Ryan, I suggest we plan a get-together for the fall. More likely that fewer of us are away on vacation then. Maybe we do something like a BBQ at one of the Metroparks -- perhaps Kensington? Just a thought. I'm happy to assist in the planning/implementation. I plan on heading over to Bakers Sunday afternoon and possibly stopping by what's going on in Livonia first. Hope to see some of you at these venues.
Best,

Jeff

I am going to try to get to cnc in toledo sat. I am working nights and usually sleeping thru the mornings so we will see what happans.

Jeff that makes sense. Maybe fall would be better, if this year is anything like last, we'll have decent weather well into November.
I would appreciate and ideas and help. Just wanted to try to get something fun together for everyone. I might also try to hit both the curtis and bakers show on sunday with a couple friends.

XLNT, we'll bring your Est Fest shirts along
With Jeff coming as well, that will be 6 NSX's in one place!
