To answer the above questions:

Cost: unsure of total. The price changes as we order parts like rubber seals and various plastics.

The job is being done by a guy who worked in my bodyshop (the managers son) who also works for Mercedes Benz. He is anal like me and is doing the work as a side job and may make a business out of it. He does most of the work out of his friends garage and takes it to the shop to paint it in their brand new state of the art paint booth.

it will likely be in the $5000 range.

Why am I painting the car? The car was one of those cars that looked good from 10 feet. It did have some paintwork in the past (no accidents, however) and not the best paintwork at that. The front bumper had a decent amount of imperfections and the rear bumper was somewhat faded. The mirrors were awful.

So i decided to go for it since i love the car and plan on keeping it.

Looks very nice. What brand paint and clear did you use ? I'm sure it is more shiny then a new one from dealer
