Will residents of Dallas be opening their homes for visitors from out of town? If so there should be another thread opened so people can offer... and others can sign up.

From what I've heard thus far from the locals here in DFW, Most will also be staying at the Marriott to
avoid driving Hammered back home from the nightly events as well as kicking back with all the other
NSX'ers staying in town. It's a Gorgeous Hotel, especially for that rate. I'm sure if somebody opens
up their house for out of towners, they'll be posting here as well. I also know of a couple that are
sharing a room to split costs.

Very tempting!! I will need to look at my schedule. Any interest in Karting on Sat afternoon or Sun AM? There are two facilities in Dallas now though I hear that the one on the other side of Rockwall is the best. I haven't been to either though.

Yep! We have looked in to it / DKC but most have comented that it's too hot for outdoor karting
that time of year and Pole Position came back with a group rate that was not so good ... basically
$70 bucks for only 2 drives... they are gone. As it stands, the group drive will take most of the
day with lunch and some down time to relax at the hotel prior to the evening's dinner outing.
Sunday mid morning to Lunch is still being worked out. Hope that you and your NSX can make
it out.

Any idea what time the drive starts on Saturday morning? I will be flying home from work back to Austin, Texas on Friday night and may have to drive down first thing Saturday morning. I want to make sure I get there in time for the drive.
Great question trainingrevolution. Because the drive actually begins east of Dallas near the city of Terrell we will need to leave the hotel at 9:00 am. This will allow travel time, plus time to refuel prior to beginning the drive. We will have a brief safety meeting prior with the first group of cars leaving at 10:00 am. Each successive group will leave in five minute intervals, each group will consist of hopefully no more than 7 cars each. Each group will have a leader familiar with the course. Additionally everyone will have turn-by-turn directions for the entire drive.
trainingrevolution, you could just meet us at Tanger Mall in Terrell, rather than drive into Dallas. This might give you some additional time. I will post some additional information concerning the drive in the next day or so. For those staying at the hotel or living locally we will caravan from the hotel to Tanger Mall.

Wow that looks like a distance from Dallas to Tanger Mall. How long is this drive from Marriot? Of course configuring driving speed limit =)
I'm guessing 40-45 min, give or take. The google machine says it is about 50 miles from the hotel to Terrell. Plenty of time to get the cars warmed up.

Unfortunately once we leave Dallas the speed limit drops to a mind numbing 60 mph. DPS works this particular area pretty heavily so we will "cruise" to the start location.
For clarification purposes this drive is "spirited", as opposed to a 'tour". By "spirited" I mean we may exceed the posted speed limit, as conditions warrant. A "tour" usually is at more relaxed pace where one can enjoy the scenery. You will be tested on this drive, unless you choose to run at a slower pace which you can using the supplied map with turn by turn directions. The route has many turns, some of the types you will experience are decreasing radius, off camber, S-turns and downhill positive camber turns. Many are on incline and declines for added variance, some are slow speed, others are high* speed.
With that said make sure your brakes, tires and suspension are in good shape.
Once we leave Tanger Mall area to start the first leg of the drive we will stop in the town of Ben Wheeler for a short restroom break. This is where we will return to after the second leg of the drive for lunch. Over all the two legs of the drive should take in 118 miles or less than two hours depending on our speed.
