Nsxpo 2018

Are you planning on doing some sightseeing on your way out or back, I'm driving from southeast michigan and looking for some cars to drive with.

No sightseeing for me en route. The road trip is all “business” to get to the destination. :) ...as fast as possible without getting a ticket.

On another note:

For those doing the HPDE and looking for track event insurance, the Type R Expo that is sharing the track with NSXPO on 9/26-27 is already up on Lockton Motorsports. Just saying for those who like to plan and budget early. For the declared value of my car, the insurance cost just under $400. Hope this helps someone.

I'll second this, I've used Lockton and they were first class all the way, no issues.

Is there a link for the track hotel? Also, for the people from the East, any interest in a caravan?

We'll be driving from Michigan, I'm interested in a caravan.

Is the HPDE going to be the entire track or just a section?

For the folks that didn't make the cut can they join us (with their NSXs) on the drive or any events?

Asking for a few friends that didn't get the NSXPO memo or were out of town on business/pleasure.

No but tell them they can get on the waiting list.

Really? They can't join on the public roads with us? I get that the banquets, lunches, etc. that cost money are reserved for paid participants, but I am surprised that we are discouraging NSX owners from joining on a drive.

Managing 200+ NSXs for a photo opp is pure kaos. That is with specific instructions sent to everyone in advance. Adding more cars that may or may not show up at a specific time and method would make it unmanageable.
The same goes for group drives. Typically cars are sent out in smaller groups so they can stay together and remain organized.

The issue is, people are working really hard to keep NSXPO organized and get value to people attending. Having others that are not part of the group makes everything unpredictable and not fair to the organizers and NSXPO attendees..
Trying to determine who is NSXPO registered, and who is not, for events becomes another issue that nobody wants to manage.
Then there are issues like liability. (The club has skin in the game, responsibilities that the NSXCA is liable for)

This issue comes up every year for every NSXPO. The answer is always the same.
Sorry.
No.
Get on the waiting list. There are always a number registrations that drop off before the event.

That's a good explanation. This is my first NSXPO, so it's tough for me to visualize managing the logistics. It is too bad that there isn't an open social portion (much like a cars and coffee) that welcomes the unfortunate that weren't able to purchase their tickets in the first 24 hour window.

I have been going to xpo's on and off since 00.....as the years have gone on we are seeing faster sign-ups and fully subscribed events in days....in the past it was weeks/months...I am pleased that the clubs annual event is so popular.part of this may be due to a streamlined user interface on the club website , and social media, as well as a whole new group of new car owners. It is a great problem to have...but hopefully at future events the venues can be chosen to accommodate more folks.I can tell you as someone involved in planning an xpo, that this is not a cars and coffee.Think of it as a multi-day conference/ technical exhibit/vacation venue for spouse-guest...and a driver education event...dizzying list of responsibility/risk/liability.....this is put together over many months......the club and members use personal and business relationships esp with acura/honda corporate....

Thank you for that excellent explanation

Every year the same thing question comes up. This is a pay to play event. In 2006 a few guys crashed one of the events and did burn outs on private property at an aviation museum. Let’s say the owner wasn’t too happy and those douchebags certainly weren’t welcomed around anymore. So for anyone planning to just show up without registering or paying, don’t be that guy.

I did not use the link because it was charging $549 for Wednesday Sep 26.

I called and got Wednesday at the same rate as Thursday Friday and Saturday.

I mentioned that odd Wednesday rate in a previous post

Hi

I had to call in as the link was not working. I got this

Date Guest(s) Status Rate
Sep 26, 2018 1 Confirmed 559.00
Sep 27, 2018 1 Confirmed 169.00
Sep 28, 2018 1 Confirmed 169.00
Sep 29, 2018 1 Confirmed 169.00
Sep 30, 2018 1 Confirmed 189.00

So wednesday to thursday is $169 too and not 559?

Regards

Is there a list somewhere of who's registered? I'd like to see who I'm going to play with.
