The APR GTC-300 wing is really growing on me, think it's a keeper!

...I have both wings in the garage but so far have not felt the need to go back to the more subtle NSX-R wing :)

No brainer.

Every time I look out the rear view mirror it makes me feel like I'm in a track prepped exotic rear mid engine car.

And the level of rear stability is just amazing....

I ran the stock wing (of course), the Backyard Special, the R wing and the Voltex Type 4. Out of all of them I liked the Voltex the most for its looks and function. However, I agree with the posts above: a BAW is only good if the rest of the car is aggressive or track focused. Anything less looks stupid, especially to the track guys who will look closely at it (and they will). I agree, the R wing is dime a dozen and overplayed, but really...you need to redo your whole car if you want to pull it off. You're not a track guy, stick with the R wing and stay classy.

Btw to use the downforce of the BAW you will need: diffuser, flat underbelly, vented hood, splitter, bigger rubber.

If anybody has a Apr gt 300 or a Voltex Carbon for sale please let me know. Thanks :)

Glad to see another convert :)

Frankly big wings are like porn ~ everyone denies they like it but secretly, now that is a different story!

Since you asked, I think the nsx-r wing and paint the front radiator bars black to tie in the look and make the front look a little more aggressive

Agreed +1, definitely paint the radiator bars black ~ color looks cheap (like a body shop got lazy and didn't bother to mask it off)! Black mirrors and roof would really bring it all together. But at least you have the NSX-R hood which helps, mine doesn't have the hood because I don't want to disturb the OEM bolts :(

Bump... Rick where are the professional photos you had done? I only see a small one. Can you post more photos with the wing?

What did you do for a third brake light?

These were the most recent ones taken at Spocom Norcal:

My favorite shot:

The studio shots:

For the third brake light, I simple mounted a JDM third brake light in the lower bumper inside the Difflow diffuser, works great and looks really subtle!

Thanks rick. Looks good. I'm going this route. Any rear shots? I can't see the close up is it carbon? How is the weave compared to the R wing?

Glad to hear you are joining the APR "club"!!! hehe

I would rate the APR weave a 9/10 as it's near perfect.

Compared to my NSX-R wing, I would say that weave is maybe a 7/10 but to be fair the R-wing mfr. I bought it from has great customer service and I paid about 1/3 the price of the APR so you can't complain.

Right now I'm trying to buy a simple lip spoiler for my other car and it's nothing more than a small lip that attaches to the existing spoiler that pops out at speed. IF it was for any other car it would be on Ebay selling for $400-500 at most but every vendor wants $2500+ for it, C R A Z Y!

here's a pic of my wing up close:

I wish the APR wing has a nice finisher piece like the Voltex to fill in the void between the two rear "horns". Always look a little unfinished.

Mine is on the way rick... what is this lip spoiler? you mean a splitter up front?

Rick your wing seems to sit lower than others. How is that? I've never seen this thing before is it that far adjustable or did you buy different uprights?

I had the NSX-R wing for pretty much the entire life of the car. Nothing wrong with it and I still have it but 2 gripes I always had about it was:

a) Every NSX owner seems to have one

b) Blocks my rearward vision

So after seeing a few of the APR GTC wings in person, it grew on me so much I decided to give it a try. Uses the stock holes so easy bolt on and easily reversible. After 3 months with the APR I think I'm ready to sell the NSX-R wing. This is really the perfect wing for the car. I love it and the overall look. Even at a recent meet, people who thought the wing was overly aggressive told me in person it looks amazing with the Difflow rear diffuser :)

So which one do you think looks better? :)

well since you asked.....GO BACK TO TYPE R!!!!

your car is way too clean for a race boy wing...save it for the track..IMO street cars with big azz wings look goofy, to say it nicely....

btw, not every NSX has a TypeR wing...thinking about it though.....and how's that rearward view now???

I get the same response where people that are massive wing haters likes how it fits the lines of the NSX really well.

It's a bit of a borderline ricey modification. But less so on an NSX than a civic. Less so still on a modified NSX than a stock looking one. And even less so still on an NSX clearly built for track work. I have a pretty aggressive looking car with wide tires and black wheels, R hood, downforce large side scoops. Big brakes, R compound rubber, and soon a halo seat with harnesses and a cage. So it will "fit". But yeah... I am still very nervous about this mod on the street.

Perhaps my "Skip Barber Racing School Graduate" sticker on the back window will get me some leeway. I might have to lower the car more. LOL

Lol Dave the only folks who will understand your car will be those at the track with you.On the street you will be lumped in with all the other "hooligans"

Yes. And probably especially so by the cops. :( it's a good thing I never break the law.

You should ask Billy about the pros/cons of the low wing vs the high wing for the rack.

I really can't handle it high on the street it's something I'd have to change at the track.
