vin number plate

The plate showing the vin number by the drivers side window is almost unreadable. The JH4NA2 is in white and the others numbers are stamped in the plate. You can hardly read them, is this how they are. By the way this isa 99 NSX

It is normal for the first several characters to be white and the rest to simply be stamped into the dark metal. However it should not be overly difficult to read if you look closely. If you are unable to make out any digits then I would consider that suspicious.

The VIN is repeated on the door sill and the bulkhead panel behind the engine.

that's how mine is, it just seemed different from what i am use to

Is it located anywhere else? Stamped on the panels? Is there a number on the emissions decal in the engine compartment (mine was scraped off)?

I believe my VIN isn't for my car...
