Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Racer1. When I looked at the tracking info my dealer sent, it looks like my car shipped on 9/30 and from the on truck pictures, it looks like it was the next to last last car off the truck. If you reach out to Pilot transport, they may be able to give you a better estimate. When you go to their website, there is only one lady listed, she is the one to call- - - Updated - - -I spoke with my sales person this morning. PDI is all doneT. hese folks are so awesome that they are going to pick me up from my office tomorrow , 2 hours from them. Next trivia point, my vin # is 171 and my serial # is 243 so 72 ex us cars were built at the time my car wasStated another way, us production is more than 2/3 of total PMC output- - - Updated - - -Vin # 111, a blue car is in Libertyville, IL, Vin # 137, a red car is in Langhorne, PA, Vin # 161, in Casino white is in Minneapolis, MN, vin # 152, a blue car is in Highland Park, IL, the dealer is looking for $50k over for this one. Word on the street is that The downtown Chicago dealer got an out of town buyer to pay $100k over sticker for their first car

Thanks for the info! Talked to Pilot transport and my car should be at my dealer Monday or Tuesday at the latest! Checked with the sales manager and he had still not heard when it would be delivered. No communication from Acura to my dealer - so thanks again for telling me how to track it down!
 
Glad that got you what you were looking for.I spoke with the NSX Rep today and they get different info streams, like vin #, destination city and ship date. I guess they could piece things together but it does not appear to be happening. I thought they were typically calling the dealership when the car ships but maybe only some of the time.I learned today that there is a fix for the door vibration issue. They install some foam near in the door near the mirror area. Apparently, this has been an issue for other models. Unknown if this has been addressed at the factory. Tour practice runs start next week. The tours will be run by a third party, Apex. It is unclear if we will be able to interact with any PMC employees during the tour. There will be some effort to provide tours so folks who are still waiting might see their car being built. There is some concern that tour participants may see something bad happen on the shop floor (like a door being scratched and then blasting it on social media). I asked if they had heard about cars being received at dealerships with underside damage and that was news to him (point came from my general sales manager). The specialist also confirmed that you do not need to get to 500 miles before using launch control.- - - Updated - - -Short video of the car in N Scottsdale. True. The powertrain is ready to rip right off the showroom floor. The brakes on the other hand...probably should put a couple hundred miles of mixed driving on them to get them broken in.Also. You get three, maybe four hundred launch control starts (if you lose count, don't worry we can find out) before the wet clutch pack wears out. So use LC starts with some discretion. Before you ask, we're anticipating something around a minimum of $15k for a clutch replacement.
 
I hit the track at about mile 150 on the ODO. I burnished the brakes on a lonely freeway on the way there and all was good. I haven't tried an LC yet.
 
Acura needs to look at GM for order tracking. When I ordered my CTS-V 6MT wagon in 2012, I was given an order number. I could track the order number via the dealer, or connected GM super-users on the forums, from order acceptance to the train, and I could get info about what train my car was on, all the way to delivery. Man, was that an exciting six-week wait for my blue hotness.If GM can do this for an admittedly more plebeian car, Acura should be able to do this, too. Hopefully they get their stuff together. I'm not just complaining, I'm a potential customer once the initial heat for the car cools off.
 
Quick question for Bricks.In recent post you mention VIN 170 is just ahead of yours in production line. And I believe you said yours is VIN 169.This aligns with my dealer's NSX Rep who said cars are not necessarily being built in/by sequential VIN #s . Their example a while ago was "VIN 150 might be built well before VIN 100".To your (or others out there) knowledge, is this true?And if so, is there any correlation to what the VIN #'s are actually representing if not sequential builds?Maybe they are in fact building them in color batches for economics since you and 170 are together and same color.

I can confirm that they do some color batch based builds so vin #s on the production line are not all 1, 2, 3 etc.. I am not even sure that the builds sequence by serial #. I would imagine that the chassis builds are sequential, but that may not translate on how they putt along the production line, once a chassis is ready to be fitted with all the parts. That would be a good trivia question for the factory tour.

#65 Blue is back on fleabay with the same specialty (non-acura) dealer. Last time opening bid was 190k and 22 bids later it didn't hit reserve at 216k. Despite that, opening bid is now only $150k.

Now for some review

Having the salesman pick me up and drive me 2 hours + to their store is above and beyond service.

Seeing the car in the metal at the dealership was fantastic. The contours are best seen in person.

Build quality is there. Plus the feel of the doors and rear hatch closing is solid, solid, solid.

Nav stuff is way better than the reviews.

I spent about 1.5 hours doing paperwork, getting orientation, being photographed.

I took the wheel/tire and other stuff protection. For $1500 it isn't a horrible deal relative to needing a couple of wheels and tires replaces in the next 5 years.

No extended warrantee is available at this time.

About 10 folks watched me drive off. I gave it a good throttle shot and experienced the engine sound, capped with the blow off valve sound.

At first I thought the nose was kind of high but once on the road it really does disappear.

I did not go crazy on the highway as there was a lot of traffic/construction/rain.

I had a few chances to get on it to pass. The point folks about sometimes power not being immediate was for me connected to the car being in 9th gear and then needing to sort out how to speed up. After a moment of thought the car gets faster in a hurry.

The interior is super comfy, particularly the seats. I was surprised that the contrasting stitching was not carried over to the dash (oh well).

Had some folks smiling at staring at it. One guy in an Insight was taking pictures as we rolled down the highway.

Yah, putting a car with 2 miles on the odometer into a median with a fan club watching would be bad form.

i really think the car design was more about providing accessible performance to shlubs like me than to giving pro level drivers the world's greatest track weapon.

totally worth the wait/hassle expense

tremendously fun to drive, looks way cool, appears to be built really well, lots of features to play with

i have been extra careful with stuff like lane changes

getting about 24 mpg so far

it is wide and getting into my garage and then getting out of the car are the biggest challenges

I have a lot of belief in Honda engineering. Management and marketing not so much.

i was going through my emails and saw that I started this voyage in 2013.

my salesman mentioned that after the first Leno, Seinfeld ad they had customers pour into the showroom, wanting the car. Only problem was that Acura had provided zero heads up, info, talking points to the dealerships.

acura should be providing customers with info about open build slots through their website.

my dealer's other customers for the car ended up buying R8s so they speced the next one themselves (black on black)
