who made the model?

The models are supposed to be delivered within a month of the dealership completing the RDR, once delivery is made. I am in count down mode for my model.

Additional NSX Specialist call update.

I called today after a joyous ride home.

Dealers do not have to wait to sell the coverage unit to order the first regular allocation. Another idea like the 2-3 month inform the customer window that went down the drain.

I mentioned that for us that never saw an interior prior to delivery, probably a good idea to explain that the contrast stitching will only be on the seats and area around the tunnel. The rest of the stitching appears to be white (still nice but not the kind of detail that Ferrari does (I know they charge for it).

I also pointed out who much effort my dealer made to make my delivery experience great. He has heard about dealers really trying.

Regarding QC, I did mention that the rear hatch gap looks perfect on the passenger side but is slightly bigger and not perfectly even on the driver's side (just my compulsiveness coming out again). I told how impressed I was with how solidly the car is built and the basic truth that those of us that took the risk to order one are being rewarded with something truly wonderful to own.

The car is also easy as can be to drive in crappy Chicago traffic.

As other new owners have stated, lots of smiles of adoration, finger pointing, etc. along the ride.

Amazingly easy to read a face as WTF is that. I have a guy in an Eclipse leaning way our of his door to extoll the car. And then the classic, a 10 year old boy standing at the street corner while I was at the stop sign. His stare was continuous. He went out back to see the badge, informed him mom and then she is a wonderful Eastern European accent asked what class of Acura is that?

It's a fun car to drive around and reverse people watch (watch them watching me). I generally make it a point to enter and exit places in Quiet/EV mode (feathering the throttle to avoid ICE startup). It just exacerbates the quizzical looks from people. "Is that an electric car?" If you can't impress with noise, impress with silence!

After purchasing my Zanardi I received a quality model (signed) of my car from Acura.....I gave it to the buyer when it sold.

Yours is nicer than the one I got!

Probably an auto art model. That is cool though. It's as if mother Honda is here listening to people....

Here is a video of the Valencia red car being delivered to Fayetteville, AR

Have yet to see one in person.......

Is it a $200K (or whatever) super car in your opinion?

looking beyond the acura badge...and my own subjective bias........knowing what Audi and Porsche have .....yes it does....but not quite as wow as the Italians and maclaren.

So excited for all the deliveries given videos like the above. I so want to pull the trigger on one, but for financial reasons (well actually, expensive RLX Sport Hybrid lease reasons, sigh) must wait a year.

I saw a preproduction model in November last year, and a production model this year. It looks like a $200k supercar to me, with exactly the same steering wheel controls as in my RLX.

Prices in Canada are less than the US.
For example this loaded car with CF everything, option wheels (loaded) is about $12k USD less in Canada. (Using today's US/CDN exchange rate)
The dealer said they would sell for MSRP.

YEAH!!! My car showed up Friday at 5:45pm. It was the first one off the transport, so they are delivering cars on the weekend. Probably trying to catch up. I will pick it up next week. The new nsx looks really wide compared to my 2004. I hoped to get pictures today of both cars together - but they had my new one locked up inside a delivery room. So I will have to wait till next week for pictures.

way to go racer1

Regarding shipping, I believe Friday is a common day to depart the PMC. My car left last Friday (9/30), a couple of deliveries were made in IL in Saturday (10/01) and then my car got to WI on Monday (10/03).

warren, the exchange point is fun if you have US dollars.

To me, folks in Canada make about the same number of dollars per year in their respective currency and Americans. With that in mind, you nice folks up North have to fork over about $40K more of your dollars to buy the car (i.e. the car is more expensive for Canadians than it is for Americans).

Airport Acura in Cleveland actually received 2 white ones on the same shipment over the weekend. They are the first dealer that I have seen get 2 at the same time!

Thanks Racer1

i will add this to my trivia question list when I call the NSX Specialists this week

my guess is the owner of the dealership owns multiple stores and might have lost the NSX tech from one of them.

i heard last week that some dealerships had not received shipment because they no longer has the NSX tech that had been trained

1st drive for SN 142

I picked it up & spent 2-3 hours going over everything about it with a salesman who had visited the factory.
Overwhelming! I will spend this week reading and playing with the controls...
Scraped bottom leaving the dealership drive (beware guys).
1st stop was at my friend (Jeff Balfus) who loves photography and he made this:
"Here’s the link to my Flickr album for the car" https://flic.kr/s/aHskLbCsYW
It is so beautiful!
It's "dripping wet red"

I grabbed my wife, and went for a drive up into the Santa Cruz mountains.
I quickly learned that this car will not really get totally unleashed in the greater San Francisco Bay area...
I drove 90% of the time in "Quiet" mode, and "Sport"... and it's still so quick, so responsive, so fun.
I would like to get into the "My Comfort" mode with it... sort of overwhelming...
I stood hard on the brakes once... and on the gas once... Didn't think the revs would stop but it shifted.
It's worth the wait!

The handling & cornering will be one of its most impressive features.

Can't use anything on the paint for 60 days... no detergent, no hard water, Nada...
Surprised, but acceptable. Just limits its use for another 60 days.

It's low. Its low to get in & out of too.

The gear indicator on the dash Show "D5"...
If the number is larger you are in the manual shift mode, it will restore to auto mode in a few seconds in not utilized.
If you are in auto mode the "number" is half-size.
I mention this because I "bumped" the paddle shift will driving and have yet to figure out how to quickly return to the auto mode.
Its smarter than I am...

Enjoy your Ride!

Travis

Congrats again Tduder.

great pics but the guy spelled Acura incorrectly.

my dealer told me which exit to use to avoid scraping the nose. Just a matter of time till it happens to mine.

I just heard over the weekend that Motorcars, on the other side of Cleveland, has a red one. I'm working on confirming and peeking at it with my own eyes.

Congrats on yours, racer1, will you be the first in NE Ohio to receive yours? If, by some miracle of early delivery, you have it in time for this weekend, the last Cars and Coffee at Starbucks/Vista Way is this Saturday morning. I was already going but I'll be sure to bring my NSX out for that. You'd be the star of the meet. ;)

I Think I Deserve The Trophy...
for Least Informed AND Most Misinformed NSX Client/Customer EVER!

A week plus ago I contacted my dealers assigned NSX Rep (who really goes out of her way for me when asked anything and anytime... including days off and weekends like a Sunday night text).
I figured I'd ask her to shake the info trees a bit for any updates on my car. She shortly after replies she has a message into the area Rep.
The next day she calls to say she was just informed my car was ~ 80 builds away. I respond with is that VIN's or Engine/Serial #'s away?
The next day she says that unfortunately she was told it is US VINs away. This sounds like mid winter delivery at best (to me in CT) now. So I really impress on her that I'd like to delay my car if at all possible till spring.
She says she will pursue.

So today ( a little over a week later) I'm finally getting around to splitting wood for winter. MY wife has an commitment but offers assists with running the splitter for awhile while I do all the lugging and stacking
I take a water break and check my phone. I see I have a message I just missed from my Dealers NSX assign sales person.
I split a few more logs and then my wife has to leave. SO I get my phone and see I have a message from the GM now. I listen and he says to call ASAP as he has significant news.
So I call him on his cell. That was about 11 AM today.

He says they were just informed this morning that my car is in transit and will be delivered to their sister dealership at about 1 PM TODAY! My dealer is selling their current facility and building anew MEGA facility so arranges were made for sister dealer to take care of things till the new facility is up and running in spring.
SO I stop what I'm doing, take a deep breath, put all equipment away, take a shower, change, get in my '02 Gen 1 and head out on an hour drive to see if true, and observe plus video delivery. And my mind is racing all oer the place with multiple thoughts and concerns.
Sure enough, shortly after my arrival the Big Transport arrives.
And it has Two Gen 2's left to unload. A VR Pearl for the overall owner of several dealerships including mine via mines sister dealership, and my S Silver.
It was quite a day for sure. A mix of WFT on keeping me (mis)informed , and H...S..t I'll actually have mine after all for some time to drive before weather and roads go south.
So after settling out there I head home and had to spend time scrambling to get insurance lined up plus figure out how best to pay for this thing if I want to take delivery ASAP.. maybe tomorrow PM! I have loose ends on that to settle in the AM.
Talk about a Cluster F--- on corporate ACURA for NOT keeping the customer informed... AT ALL! I have no issue with my dealership and internal rep. Their area rep... HHHMMMmmm I'm not so sure. Does teh word CLUELESS come to mind?
How in the heck did I get from ~80 VIN builds away less than two weeks ago to delivery here in CT TODAY? Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to have the car. But all the unnecessary unplanned timing hoops I now had to jump through is very disturbing to say the least. I was expecting to have time to determine what investments I'd liquidate and also how much I might finance pending what options I could find. This is the most expensive purchase ( outside my home) I'll probably ever make in my life and by far the worst (hopefully) experience too!

What do you all think?
So, Do I get the Trophy or what?
