The drivers side hole that washer fluid goes through is blocked, when we pulled the hose off where it connects under the hood it isn't blocked. Is there a way to remove the unit that is mounted on into the hood safely? if so how.

I recommend trying to backwash the blockage first.

I believe the "fountains" are removed by twisting 90-deg (1/4 turn) and pulling up.

I had the same problem with mine.
Just stick a needle or a piece of fine wire and give it a wiggle and hit the washers a few times and repeat and it should clear it out.

The "squiters" are held into the hood by two tangs 180 degrees apart. A small screwdriver can be used on the INSIDE the hood to pop them out.

See the online service manual for details.
