Xbox 360 upgrade on the way?

My buddy chipped/flashed his 360. At a time he had 15 games on it, all that he downloaded and made discs of.

He started to have trouble with it for two weeks now. Because the warranty sticker is ripped he has no idea where to fix it The DVD's won't play, original games/ copies either. He's screwed.


I chipped my PS1 a decade ago, never chipping anything again.

supposedly MS can detect and disable xboxes remotely when the connect to xBox live if they have been modded. The reason being is the compromised clients can potentially attack xbox live and it makes multiplayer gaming unfair. However, I don't know if this is actually true or just internet rumor. Besides, when you mod an xbox you're kinda on your own.. so don't mod it if you're not willing to buy another.

That just ruins the online gameplay for everyone. Now I know what was going on when I was being killed as soon as I spawned during a game. GRRR..

There is other things that i do when im getting modded by little 9 yr old kids wich is called standby . For a modder to have ther full modds on they have to have this thing called host.Host is the connecton leader in each match if the modder has host your done, if he doesnt then the person that does can due this thing called standby and put his connection to red bar, also there is ways you can force host and put ther hole team in red bar and your team in green surtof like hacking and you get a win.But usually the modder has someone in there party giving them host so nomatter what they get hose, and on the xbox being banned bussiness , each time you modd in matchmaking you can only modd for about 5 hours then your account gets banned but you can still play custom games. Xbox dont get banned . They can banned your seriel number and your box is usless but they hardly do it anymore.

my biggest worry is with so many xbox 360's going down with problems... that modding or hacking your xbox will throw your warranty out the window... don't want to risk that with a $400 machine... :frown:
