As another bay area owner of an 97 MCB / camel, this hurts my heart. I would recommend Cologne Auto Body for body / paint work (even without Jim there anymore - see Luis) and San Carlos Auto Solutions (who works on many NSXs and whose owner Kenneth owns one too) for any mechanical work.

Sunnyvale Acura would be anything but a random tech. Jim Russell is the service manager there, and he is an NSX expert I exclusively go to despite the distance away.

That's odd. My Barrett-Jackson insurance policy just renewed at the end of August, and my rates were unchanged. $200 liability/year for $1M coverage, and $89/year for coverage for my NSX at $50K agreed value. I wonder if the rates went up since then, or the silly tickets you mentioned were...

I just got both my NSX and BMW serviced at Sunnyvale Acura with Jim. I was very impressed with way the dealership treated me (nice loaner car, everyone coming up and introducing themselves like I was a famous person, followup call from dealership manager to make sure I was satisfied, etc.) and...

I don't know. You should ask Jim that, I think. I do know that I first began working with Jim when he was service manager at Hopkins, and there he either worked on my NSX personally (esp. for tricky issues like noises) or closely supervised one of his best people in doing so. But I don't know...

Update: Jim just told me that Sunnyvale Acura made him a good permanent offer, and he has decided to stay. So if you want to see him (and I continue to believe he is a fantastic resource for our NSXs), it looks like Sunnyvale Acura will be the place. Chip
