What about the '00 NSX-T that Car and Driver got to do 4.5s 0-60 and 12.9@110 in the quarter? That's considerably quicker than any of the cited numbers for '02+ cars.

I've seen 12.8s from a stock 3.2l... Add an exhuast and you should be there ($700).

It's a '97 Monte Carlo/Black NSX-T 6-speed. The car is at an Acura dealer in VA which is comforting to me, but has anyone heard of/seen the car?

Re: Congrats... Agreed. I told a couple of car friends that I had gone to test drive one, and fell in love, and nearly all of them said "But it's only a 290 horsepower V6! And it's SOO overpriced!" heh.... I don't think anyone would complain about the engine if they actually drove the car...

I live in Westfield, NJ, which is in Union county. An NSX that I'm looking at is priced suspiciously low (43,800 for a 98 NSX-T manual with 39,000 miles), but appears pristine in and out. Does anyone know a good NSX mechanic in central NJ that I could have look the car over top to bottom?

Yeah. If I'm pleased with my test-drive tomorrow I think I'll buy a carfax account to check it out, and I need to find a good mechanic in my area. I think I'll ask in the North East forum about that.

My Volvo isnt THAT stodgy :p Seriously though, I recomend you test drive an R if you get the chance. They're very impressive cars, especially for the $42k pricetag. Best sport sedan out there IMO. If I'm impressed with my test on Saturday (which I imagine I will be), I'll start looking into...

Well, it'll be a few years (with any luck ;)) before I'm a dad, so hopefully by the time I am one I'll be able to own something nice and practical, and the NSX. Maybe an Elise, those look like they could be fun :p
