^^^ That, or an appropriate size flanged swage nut (aka thread-serts, rivet nuts). They are basically a hollow rivet with internal threads. They go in the hole and the flange keeps them from going all the way through. When you initially tighten a fastener into them, the back side collapses...

Here's all you need for removing the axle nuts. Milwaukee 2763-20 This thing is awesome. I think it would work, even if you left the nut staked.

When parking a Gen 1 next to a Gen 2, I don't think there is any need to worry about the Gen 1 being ignored.

I'll never know, Frankie. Installation is still a ways off, and at that point, I'll also be installing new hi-flow cats and new CT exhaust; so any difference in sound the coating might make won't be readily apparent, due to the other changes.
