New Buyer - NSX or Ferrari 348?

When making these comparisons I think its always worth remembering that you can find used 91-92 NSX's with 120k+ mileage all day long. You can either think of that as amazing engineering on Honda's part, or a frightening lack of competence from the comptetition. Or both

One more for the crash and burn section

This wreaks of 'crime of passion'. Nothing else could explain that level of depravity

what's the world coming to when...

I'm not sure listing the mods always works in the seller's favor. Lots of first time buyers want a stock car, even if they think they might mod it later. Mods hint at possible hard use, stock does not. If I was selling an older NSX the first thing I would do is make damn sure it had...

    NSX's in SF Chronicle, FYI

Tobal, are you really finding cars in the low 20's? My take on the '91-'92 market right now is roughly: Price Miles ------------ $35k+ 0 to 40,000 $30k 50,000 to 85,000 $25k 100,000+ and/or questionable condition. I see the $20-$25k cars advertised, but most looked suspicious for...

Comptechs Best NSX not near good enough (C&D)

Honda has only itself to blame. Look at the leaps that Ferrari has made between the 348, 355 and 360. Each revision is a mini-revolution. I don't know what Honda is thinking, but it certainly has made a great market for entry level super cars with the NSX. [This message has been edited...

    Hello everyone !

I have to admit to missing NetViper's regular 'NSX search' updates. As a lurker it was kind of fun watching the whole process. Oh well, he's in a better place now!

    NSX vs Girl Friend

Having a girlfriend that thinks of cars as simply A to B transportation can actually be a good sign. I'd be a lot more worried about the reverse problem, that is, someone who puts a high value on the look or marque of their/your car. Frankly, having someone that does not have the impulses and...

    GOOD GOD !

Man you guys gotta raise your deductibles! 'Insure yourself' as they say. Taking your deductable from $250 to $1000 will have a dramatic affect on your premiums.

the price range of a 99 NSX?

My mental benchmark for 'good deal' on '97+ models was set by a member on this board awhile back. I don't think pics are available anymore, but the car was in excellent condition if I remember correctly. To be sure, prices have fallen. http://www.nsxprime.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/003306.html

$30,000. to spend by March 24

Don't get a new Audi unless you love depreciation. I got a great deal on my 99.5 A4 when purchased new (out the door it was around $30k), but I could buy the same thing used right now for about $18k <sigh>. Luckily I love the car so its not going anywhere.

    Revised VIN for carfax..

Thats a tough one. The upgrades are tastefully done and 2-owner is a bonus. Yet most high mileage NSXs go for less than 29k. Maybe let them sit on it for a month and see if they change their tune on price.

A few impressions of the 2002 NSX

While the new one looks a lot like the old one, I think its the trends I see present in the upgrades that make me worry about the all-new model coming. Particularly the busy rear lower meshing combined with the goofy over-sized tail-pipes. The headlights are another disappointment. The...

    NSX VS Yamaha R6!!

At highway speeds mid-sized sport bikes can be easily caught off guard. The reason is lack of torque to pull the taller gears. HP to weight ratio only matters if you are at the RPM that is yeilding your maximum HP. If you are caught halfway to red-line in 5th or 6th gear, you can easily be...

    80k miles good buy?

Depends on the price. If I were selling the car myself I think a fair price would be: $32k-$33k if I had all the books on the car. $28k-29k if not. Thats assuming that the car is in great shape. There are lots of '91s with <50k miles selling in the $32k-$35k range which puts pressure on...

Looking for early model NSX, need opinion...

For what its worth, in the Seattle area I've seen 2-3 recent sales on the models you mentioned. '91 60k 5-speed blk/blk. Listed $27k sold $26k '91 Blk/Ivory. Eddie Lee's car. Think he listed it at $27k. Not sure of final price. '94 5-speed 70k, custom wheels. Listed at $41k then $39k, then...
