Question about the future of the Type S?

Hi! Congrats on your purchase! I think all NC1s will be collectible—including your 2017 so nice pick up! The Type S a bit more so but all of them will track together. I think a representative already confirmed that the next (3rd) generation NSX will be electric.

Official waiting room for those with a Type S on order -- share your build

Now that allocations are being officially distributed, I thought this would be a great time for others to share their build specifications. I also created a poll so that we can get an early look at the color distribution. I'm in for LBB with red calipers and lightweight package. Any others??

Which color to order the new 2022 Type S NSX?

I do favor the lighter exterior colors with the Type S. I went with matte wheels and good idea on painting the calipers. Out of curiosity, what makes you think your order is changeable at this point? Did I miss an update? Thanks!

    Type-S Announced

I’m just curious but what is your source for this? Call me naive, but I feel that there are more that 300 people that want (and subsequently legitimately ordered) the one year only, final gas powered, aesthetically and mechanically upgraded reliable exotic car that’s still significantly cheaper...

    Type-S Announced

I agree with this. If you are #1 at one of the ~240 NSX dealerships you will get a car. If you are #2 at the top thirty you will get a car. The bigger question is, where do the remaining ~29 cars go and how do they get distributed?? Is it determined by who placed their order first...

Paddle Shifters and Sport and Sport + Question

On a separate paddle shifter note, has anyone tried these aftermarket carbon fiber paddles? I always felt the feel of the stock paddles was kind of cheap and toy like and I was wondering if these would improve that...

    Type-S Announced

Wow. I’m reading some very insightful, well thought out, experienced comments. It seems the NSX demographic are true car people. I hope to be part of the club soon!

    Type-S Announced

Me thinks the people on this forum are vastly underestimating the true demand for this car. I also think the attention the Type S is attracting will bring attention to the 17-21 cars in a favorable way. The “new” NSX has always been under appreciated and I feel that is going to change going...

    NSX Type S order

According to the GM of our local store we will know about confirmed allocations for those with deposits in “2 or 3 weeks”. I believe Acura is scheduling the entire production run in the interim.

Which color to order the new 2022 Type S NSX?

Would someone be kind enough to photoshop one of the reveal photos in all of the colors available? The configurator doesn’t quite give me the best idea. Btw, weren’t all orders supposed to be in by yesterday?

Why the 2022 NSX Type-S May Be a Sham

Maybe I’m atypical, but I’ve owned over a dozen Lambos and Ferraris and currently own both — I still think of maintenance and cost of ownership in my purchase decisions. I sincerely considered the 296 before placing my Type S order so there is at least one of us. Importantly, I don’t say that...

Why the 2022 NSX Type-S May Be a Sham

They benchmarked the development of the NSX against the 458 (even tearing one apart) and the GT3. Many customers cross shop the cars prior to purchasing. They have similar performance and price point. In my opinion that puts them in the same league. Now when you talk about reliability and pain...

Why the 2022 NSX Type-S May Be a Sham

I think the prior transaction prices for NC1 cars were cheap — I don’t think the Type S is expensive, it’s just relative. An 11 year old 458 for 200k? A made in mass quantity GT3 for $175k? I would MUCH rather go with the NSX and it’s not even close for me.

Why the 2022 NSX Type-S May Be a Sham

I can certainly understand not trading up for ‘22 S if one already owns a ‘17 etc. But in fairness, when performing your analysis one must keep in mind a 5 year newer car with warranty, all of the updates AND future resale vs the ‘17. It will certainly be more expensive but it may not be as...
