Hello, just wanted to post some pics of my 1991 Civic Si.
I havent driven it since Spring 2011,
It has 116,000 km
Original paint

Well it's defenitely not a CRX for the most part, the way I see it, it's a CRX with 2 extra rear seats ! LOL

I purchased this car October 2nd, 2009 from the 2nd owner with 105,000 kms. The previous owner bought it in 2007 and drove it for only 5,000 kms until it was stored. This car was first owned by Bill Gardiner of Motoring TV on TSN. Recently, the car was mentioned on an episode of motoring TV in early Jan 2010.
Here's a lil video clip from a Motoring TV episode:

Well I finished my engine bay detail.. took about 4 days total.

I used WD-40 and a paintbrush and 4 microfiber towels.
Works amazing on 20 year old buildup of dirt and rustproofing. No joke. ;)
Car had been sitting for 10+ years.. Buildup of rustproofing and dust on it takes its toll.

So clean. I had an 89 black that someone felt they needed more than I did. Always looking for a nice example. Very nice, and a beautiful CRX as well.

I think I may have seen this build thread on clubrsx maybe? Very clean. You used wd40 on the engine bay right?

Wow--center console! I had that center console for my 88 Civic DX. I used it to mount stereo stuff (preamp, Audio Control Epicenter, Audio Control ESP-3 center channel processor).

You need to do a write up on how to clean an engine bay like that. She's a beauty!

No writeup necessary.
All you need are a few cans of WD40 (depending how bad the dirt is), a paint brush or soft brush and some rags to clean off the excess.
After all dirt is pretty much gone, you can hose down with water and all purpose cleaner if you want.
It took me a total of 20 hours or so as well as replacing some crusty parts with new. :)

Very cool! The early 90's Civic SI was a great car :)

I used to have a multicolored, gutted out, desperation purchase when I blew my Turbo Integra GSR engine, 91 Civic HB. Arguably the ugliest car I have owned but at the same time, arguably the most fun. It was red by nature, but previous owner put on a baby blue hood and a Pep Boys bolt on exhaust. They gutted it, the window didnt roll up properly and the air didnt work. I did have a tower brace in the back, and I went ahead and added a straight pipe :D Then I was too impatient for the wings west body kit a friend gave to me, so I used drywall screws to attach it to the car. For added coolness, I threw my '99 OEM GSR wheels on it with some Nitto 555Rs.
Loud, pretty ugly, zero creature comforts, tons of fun.

Looks great. Love this timeframe of cars, when design was clean and simple. I always wanted a Civic hatch :)

Love the end result and all of the work involved. Great job. How long did it take you to acquire all of the BNIB items?

All within teh past 5 years or so.
Its impossible to find stuff like this nowadays because people just horde it and dont sell any BNIB accessories.

That's what I reasoned. I think quite a few nsx owners are doing the same with some of the rarer parts to be frank.

Those ef civic/crx's are what started my appreciation for Hondas. You have any specific plans for it?

^^^^^

I hate you. You have all the clean EFs :) For the love of god keep them!!! I have that armrest in my CRX but the lid cracked underneath and have been looking for a replacement or some way to repair it that isn't rigged. That thing is so fragile. I will now call you the EFing King! HAHA

I have to start her up sometime next week and get the fluids flowing. :)

Haha...that's awesome. I plan on doing the same thing to my m5. Kudos to you for getting it done so quickly - it's taking me forever.
