Any Alabama NSX owners?

If you're ever in Huntsville you can ride in mine...and maybe drive.

I've seen a couple for sale in Bham every now and then. I think there's a member or two that lives there.

Thanks! That would be great! I think me and my wife will be heading up to Huntsville in next couple weekends.

Can I ask couple of questions about these cars? Do you happened to have an AIM?

Private Message me on here when you're coming up (the day or two before) and hopefully I won't be gone/busy that weekend.

I'm in huntsville as well,

in fact there are two NSX's on my street.

Do you live in Monrovia? I'd be upset if there was another NSX on my street. I'm around Hampton Cove.

We'll have to meet up sometime.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say hello and extend an offer to come out with your "little brothers" for dinner sometime. We have a very good S2000 club in Huntsville and Alabama, and we do a month dinner and just hang out. The majority of us know Dewain27, 2 Saw, and Coldhammer from a meet we did in Gatlinburg over the summer. In fact, we are working on a joint S2000/NSX meet in Chattanooga next June. Let me know if yall would be interested in joining us for dinner or a drive sometime!

Aero,

I'm getting an 1994 NSX this Sunday! I'm very excited! Hope we could meet some day.

Hmm. Sounds like a plan. When do you guys usually do your dinner?? I'm located in Bham and usually work 9-5 during the weekdays. I also head up to Chattanooga quite often (1/3months).

Deals Gap,

Congrats on the car!! What color is it? As for dinner, the Huntsville group usually tries to do dinner on the last Thursday of the month. We do have a growing Birmingham group who has been doing dinner and weekend drives. I will try and keep you informed, or you can come over to www.s2ki.com every so often and look for the Alabama forum! We post about dinners, drives, and other larger meets!

Hey Rob,

Its Blk on tan. I'm going to FL to pick it up this weekend.

Sounds good about the dinner. I'm not much of a Honda guy before but definitely interested in learning more and meeting new people.

Congrats. You got the best color! Post pics and details once you get it.

Complete Disappointment!! Actually I had two experiences over the weekend that made me re-think about NSX.

First one was in ATL where I purchased some NSX wheels from a fellow Prime member. It was supposed to have minor scuffs and the tires and wheels were supposed to be balanced.. When I saw it, the whole inside of the rims were badly scuffed! But I bought them because it would be never seen. But after bringing them home, I noticed there were no weights inside of the inner wheels. The tires were cupping because it was out of balance. I PM'd him right away saying he could take them back or pay for balancing. Which I thought it was reasonable request. He agreed to pay for balancing and now he refuses to pay.. I'm hoping he'll change his mind.. but who knows...

And yesterday, I drove from Bham to Pensacola, FL to check out the 94 NSX. The seller told me that the car was in good shape, well maintained, well kept car. I asked about the paint over the phone and thru email and he said, "I challenge you to find any flaws in the paint". I went down to see it and it was in complete mess! Many panels were re painted and some panels were painted by some amature painter. I could see the sanding marks 4-5 feet away. There were mis aligned panels, bumpers, head light covers, and every panels had issues.

He also told me before my trip down there that the engine was kept well and did not leak nor burn oil. When I jack'd the car up and went under, it was COMPLETE MESS! Oil was everywhere and after farther inspection, it was leaking from Oil, valve cover, and who know where else.

As of now, I'm VERY disappointed with my interaction with NSX owners. I also had bad experience back in 2000-2001 when I was searching for one.
This kind of behavior, I wasn't expecting from so called, "Supercar" owners. Its more like teens lying to get rid of damage goods... Very disappointing and I think I'm just going to stick with my 2 RX-7s for now.. at least I've never EVER experienced this kind of behaviors from 7 owners (bought 5 FDs in the past) since owning one in 2001.

If its still ok for me to "hang" with my 7, let me know.

PHIL

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. Just have to be patient. What years are you looking for? Check out the supercharged black 92 in the for sale forum. It looks like a nice one!

DId you get to drive a NSX yet? There's a 2003 in Montgomery (check ebay) to give you a frame of reference if you want to look/drive a newer one.

Anyone who says not a single flaw on the paint prob doesn't know what 'flawless' means. I'd rather buy from someone who knows every single mark on their car and volunteers the info.

I am also sorry that happened to you. I know that you were excited to purchase one. I purchase a 1993 Red/black NSX last January from a person in Minnesota and it was everything they said it was and more.
I may be selling mine to upgrade to a 95 or 96 NSX for the targa. If you have interested in looking at a red with black 93 NSX just PM me you will not be disappointed.

Take care and best of luck!!

TG

Thanks guys.. At this point, I'm somewhat discouraged about buying one. Its not about the money but the fact that two people I've met last saturday and Sunday just left a bad taste in my mouth. My purpose of buying this was to daily it and I alsways wanted one back when I was in high school.

But now, I think I'm just going to sit back and wait.. Maybe time will wash off this taste and eventually search for another NSX later on...

I could have saved you a trip to P'cola, and I'm sure someone else could have saved you a trip to atlanta. If you find a car someplace and you want it looked at before taking a road trip just ask on here. Chances are someone on here will live close to the area and be more than happy to look and give you an honest opinion of the vehicle.

I've seen you around there before a few times...course never in my NSX. We will have to meet up sometime.

I'll add my name to the list of AL owners. I have had a 91 NSX since 2002; use as daily driver. Bought after patient and extended looking on Ebay! Car was in Atlanta; had my son check it out before I bid. Very happy with it.

But - - I got rear-ended Monday in Huntsville by a young guy in a pick-up. He decided to leave the scene in a big hurry, but I caught up with him within a half mile and got his license number. Had cell phone programmed to police; sped dialed them and informed them of the progress of the chase until they flagged him down. Kudos to Huntsville Police!

Does anyone have a recommendation for where to get my car fixed? The damage was not severe - not a hard hit, but the rear bumper is pretty well trashed and the rear fascia is slightly bent in, just enough so that the trunk will not latch. I don't know about anything behind the bumper.

btw - For mechanical work, I recommend Barney Demonbruen in Nashville. He replaced my clutch. Good job, good price. Very knowledgeable. He didn't have any body repair recommendations, though.

You might try Eagle Collision btwn Madison and Athens on 72. I let him buff my car for me and he seems very meticulous and detail oriented. He's the owner and won't let his crew guys work on special cars. Let me know if you find a NSX specialist around here. I'm going to see Barney soon actually for some mods.

Let me know if you wanna meet up sometime.

heh, where has everybody been?
i'm in bham too..... black/ivory 91....
drive it all the time around town.
i'd let you check it out, but i just hit a deer yesterday.... not bad at all, but (unlike those people whose cars you checked out) i don't even like to drive it in bad condition, let alone try to sell it  (being dirty doesn't count  )
